Daryl can be very sweet at times. Just now, he did something which really warms my heart.
I was trying to make him sleep just now without much success. Fed up, I laid down beside him, closed my eyes & pretended to be asleep already. I was hoping that he would finally stopped rolling all over the bed & decide to sleep. He tried to 'wake' me up a couple of times by patting my face, calling me, shaking me, etc. However, I refused to answer him. After a few tries, he gave up & laid down beside me to sleep. But before he settled down to sleep, he did something very, very sweet! He faced me, patted my cheek & head & smoothed my hair. He did this not once but twice!
The thing is, I always do these actions to him when I try to make him sleep or when he has just fallen asleep. I didn't know that he would 'remember' these actions & repeated them to me. This shows how good kids are in remembering stuff. When he did that to me, it warms my heart so much!
I told Kel about what Daryl did when he came to bed later. Kel's reply is that Daryl really loves me, so I should try to be more patient with him especially when he misbehaves. Well, let's see whether I can still remember what Kel said when Daryl drives me up the wall. :p

BBQ at Elaine's Place
Pat organised a BBQ tonight for the family. The venue is Elaine's place, where she & Sam have been staying while they are in Singapore.
The BBQ starts at about 6pm. However, we left the house at about 4.30pm so that Daryl can do some swimming at the pool together with Kel.

At Elaine's place, we went up to her place to help her to bring down some stuff to the swimming pool. She stays on the 4th floor of a walk up apartment. As it's quite an old condo, thus there's no lift. Gosh, I was so exhausted walking up to her apartment. I should have taken Kel's advice to wait for them at the swimming pool. :p
Afterwards, we proceeded to the swimming pool. Then Kel & Daryl changed into their swimming costumes. Before entering the pool, Kel & Daryl showered at the shower point beside the pool.

Daryl was scared, thus Kel let him sit at the edge 1st before entering the pool again.
However, once Daryl overcame his fear, he had a great time at the pool.
I took 2 vids of Daryl while he was in the pool. Enjoy...
After 1/2 hour of swimming, Kel decided to come out of the pool as it was getting cold. Daryl protested very loudly! Kel ignored his protests & carried him out of the pool. I bundled him up & brought him to the toilet so that he & Kel can bathe.
When they are done, Kel went to help to BBQ the food while Daryl & I sat down to wait for our food. This is the privilege of being pregnant & a toddler. :p
We had a great eating & catching up with each other. When we were done with the food, Pat had a surprise for us. She had bought a birthday cake for some of us whose birthdays are coming up. Thus, Francis, Kel & I got to blow candles & cut the cake. Cheeky Kel then tell me that he can save on a birthday cake for me already as my birthday is the next day.
At about 11pm, we left Elaine's place as Daryl is tired already. What a great BBQ!

15th Day of CNY
Today is the 15th day of CNY. As it's the last day of CNY, Pat decided to arrange for a lunch with the family to celebrate. However, as it's a Thu & a working day, only Kel's mum, Linda, Francis & his youngest daughter, Sam, Pat & us were able to attend.
I made a reservation at Crystal Jade Palace Restaurant for lunch. When we reached, we were very surprised to find out that Crystal Jade had opened up 1 of their bigger VIP rooms for us. What a lucky day for us!
As we were the 1st to arrive, we took some pics while waiting for the rest.

When everyone arrived, we order lunch which consist of a salmon lo-hei & dim sum. The lo-hei came 1st & all of us started to lo...
After the lo-hei, our dim sum dishes came & we started to eat our lunch.

After lunch, Kel's mum, Linda, Francis & his daughter went back while Sam, Pat & me went to Tangs to shop. There's a members preview sale there today. Pat had reserved some stuff there, so I am following her there to make payment as I can get additional discounts with my Tangs card. Kel & Daryl went to his office to pass some docs to his colleague. It's not that I don't want to bring Daryl along with us. It's coz it's about his nap time already. Thus, Kel & I were hoping to make him nap in the car.
While we were in the car, I took some pics of Sam, Pat & Daryl.

We had a great time shopping at Tangs. However, I only managed to get a concealer as I was too tired to shop much. In addition, being pregnant severely restricts my shopping choices.
At about 5pm, Kel & Daryl came to pick me & Sam up. Pat didn't join us as she went to her gym. We dropped Sam off at Sim Lim Square as he wanted to check the place out. Kel told me that Daryl had napped in the car just now for about an hour. While waiting for us to finish our shopping, he actually went to the Newton Circus's carpark to wait for us & to let Daryl napped. I was actually very touched that he did that. Coz Kel is quite an impatient person by nature, but in order to let us shopped in peace & for Daryl to nap, he's actually willing to wait for us. It's times like this that I appreciate him. :p
On the way back home, Kel played 1 of Daryl's fav CD which is a compilatio of nursery rhymes. Daryl was fiddling with the volume knob & I managed to capture his actions on camera.

Then it was home sweet home. This concludes our CNY celebrations...

Sweet Boy
I decided to cook spaghetti bolognaise for dinner tonight as I am getting a little sick of outside food. When I am done, I told Daryl to take his plate, spoon & fork & wait for me at the coffeetable. When I went out, I saw this.
My sweet little boy had laid out 3 spoons on the coffeetable. The 1 on the left is his spoon, the 1 on the middle is mine while the 1 on the right is Kel's. Even though Kel is not home, Daryl still laid out his spoon. What impresses me most is that he managed to arrange the spoons on the coffeetable all by himself & they were in the correct position!
That's not all. He even laid out a spoon on the dining table for his Yeye! This is even though Kel's dad would never eat the dinner which I had cooked.
When I saw these, I was so touched by his sweetness.
I showed Kel the pics when he came back from his appt. He was also very touched by Daryl's gesture. My little boy is growing up to be a sweet little boy. :p

2nd Day of CNY
Today is the 2nd day of CNY. As per tradition, we went back to visit my mum & to have lunch there.
In the morning, when Daryl woke up, Kel fed him his milk. Then it's off to brush his teeth & take a shower. After the shower, Kel dressed him up in the new clothes which I bought for him. He has a lot of new clothes already, but I couldn't resist buying this set for him. :p Kel was complaining that I am spoiling him. Take a look at the pics below & you would understand why I couldn't resist. :p
Daryl looks so handsome in them right? Even Kel agreed with me. :p
After we got ready, we set off for my mum's place. Before we set off, I found out that I had forgotten to take my hp. So I asked Asty to go back home & take it for me. While waiting, I took some pics of Daryl in the car.

When Asty came back, we set off for my mum's place. On the way there, Daryl actually fell asleep. I guess yesterday had really tire him out. He was still napping when we reached. Thus, I went up to my mum's place while Kel & Asty stayed in the car.
Kel, Daryl & Asty came up about 1/2 hour later. While waiting for my mum to get lunch ready, Kel took this pic of me & Daryl.
I wanted to take 1 of Kel & Daryl. However, the notti boy ran off before I could do so as he wanted to find his popo. My mum is preparing lunch, so we guessed that he wanted to 'chope' the food before we get to them. :p
After a very sumptuous lunch, we went visiting. Our 1st stop is Grandaunt's place. They were so happy to see us. When we left, Grandaunt told us to visit them more often. She was complaining that our annual visits are not sufficient.
Then it was off to Grandma's place. Grandma still looks the same as before. However, her memory seems to have deteriorated further. She can't even remember her own daughter - my mum. After a while, we left Grandma's place as we have another place to visit. Seeing Grandma in her current state kinda of depresses me. I miss the active & jovial her. This is what dementia does to a person.
We dropped Mum & my sis back home & we went to Jason's place. On the way there, Daryl napped in the car again. Gosh, we didn't think that he was that tired. He was still napping when we reached Jason's place. Thus, Kel & I went up while Asty stayed in the car with Daryl.
Daryl woke up about 1/2 hour later. Asty then brought him up. Jason's mum had cooked a very sumptuous dinner for all of us, thus we had dinner there. At about 8.30pm, we decided to leave the place as Daryl is getting cranky while Kel stayed back to gamble. What a tiring day!

1st Day of CNY
Today is the 1st day of CNY, the 3rd time that Daryl is spending it with us. Next year, 1 more member will be joining us already. :p
When Daryl woke up, he got his 1st ang pao from Kel.

After opening his ang pao, or rather Kel's ang pao only, he was whisked off to the bathroom to wash up. Then Kel fed him his morning milk & we went to start on our preparations for lunch.
This year, since Pat is back, we decided to have a steamboat lunch with our family members instead of visiting our relatives. Pity that Chris & Francis's family members can't join us as they already have prior committments.

After a very sumptuous steamboat lunch, Kel's mum, Lawrence, Pat & me played mahjong while the rest watched a DVD. :p This time, I managed to recoup my 'school fees' back + some interest. Hehe... Kel was saying that our house brought me luck. :p
When we finished our game, the rest had also finished their DVD. Linda & her sons then make a move as they had to visit a friend. We then watched another DVD. Halfway through, Lawrence & his daughter left 1st as he was not feeling well.
Kel's mum & Pat then stayed for dinner. Kel cooked his specialty - abalone noodles for us. After dinner, Elaine & her maid came to visit us. They left at about 8pm together with Pat as they had to visit Elaine's sister's place. Kel then sent his mum back.
That concludes our enjoyable but tiring day...
