Daryl & Zephan's Play Date

Trina & Zephan came over to our place just now for a play date. I wanted to pass her the 3 - 6 months clothes which Dawn had outgrown for her upcoming baby. As I have to take care of Dawn, she offered to come to our place instead.

While the 2 boys played, Trina & I were yakking away. It's good to have company for once. At least I can have a decent conversation with another adult. :p

For lunch, Kel went to buy MacDonalds as a treat for our kids. When he came back, Daryl & Zephan were so happy to see him, or rather what he was carrying in his hands. :p After a very quick lunch, they went back to play while Trina & I finished the remaining of their lunches & our own lunches.

After our lunch, we were sitting at the dining table chatting when we saw that our kids were wearing the fireman hats. They looked so cute that we couldn't resist taking pics.

Daryl finding a place to put his mat on the very messy floor while Trina was asking Zephan to put on the fireman's hat so that she can take pics.

Trina asking Daryl to go & stand beside Zephan for pics taking

Daryl & Zephan running off before we could take a good pic of the 2 of them. It's so difficult to get our kids to take pics these days. See Dawn's outstretched hand? She was trying to grab Trina's hp. :p

The only shot we could get of the 2 boys together.

With that last pic, I gave up trying to take their pics & sat down at the dining table to chat with Trina again. Kel then took the camera & took some pics of a more 'co-operative' subject - Dawn.

See how 'co-operative' Dawn is. :p

A group pic of the 3 of them

At about 12.45pm, Trina & Zephan had to go home already as Zephan had to nap at about 1pm. Daryl & I brought them down to wait for Zephan's daddy to come & pick them up. What a great way to spend a Sat morning. We will have to do it more often. :)

Daryl Knows How To Write His Name

Daryl & Dawn were watching Handy Manny on Playhouse Disney just now on our bed. During 1 of the commercial breaks, Daryl was doddling on his Sesame Street Counting with Elmo.

All of a sudden, he said, "Mami, see... my name, Daryl's name..." As I was engrossed with my work at the other end of the bed, I just glanced at him & replied, "Yeah, where is it? How come Mami cannot see?" As he didn't get a 'response' from me, he carried his handiwork & walked over to where I was sitting & put his handiwork in front of me. Then he said, "Mami, see... this is Daryl's name..." As he was blocking my laptop, I took a good look at what he was pointing at. I was very surprised at what I saw. He actually wrote his own name on the doodle pad. All this without any coaching from me. Regret to say that I am not a very good mummy. I haven't or didn't have the time to coach him in writing at all. Thus, I think he must have learnt it in school. I was so proud of him! I gave him a very big kiss & told him to sit down coz I want to take a photo of him.

Daryl's name. He wrote it like this "DArYL".

Daryl posing with the V sign. I have no idea when & where he learnt it from coz both me & Kel don't pose with the V sign. :p

Daryl & Dawn

My little boy is growing up already...

Standing Up

Dawn had learnt how to pull herself up to a standing position for about 2 weeks already. However, I didn't get a chance to take pics coz she's always using me as her support to stand up. :p

Just now, I finally managed to get a chance. I had put her in her cot to watch My Friends Tigger & Pooh on Playhouse Disney while I try to sneak in a quick shower. When I came out of my shower, I saw this...

My little gal is growing up already. Now she's pulling herself to a standing position. Soon she'll be learning to walk already. How I wish that she can remain my baby forever. :p

Lion Haired Dawn

Dawn got woken up just now by the notti boy. Instead of wailing as she normally did, she actually rolled over & smiled at me. I was very amused by her reaction & her 'lioned' hair. Thus, I took pics. :p

Sweet Daryl

I am been working, doing the housework & taking care of Daryl & Dawn eversince we sent Asty back.

Today, I am very tired as Kel was not around to help. He had a few appointments to run in the afternoon, thus he went out after lunch. Dawn, as usual, was very clingy to me the whole afternoon. Once I am out of her sight, she would wailed the house down. My father-in-law was of not much help as Dawn doesn't take to him. I ended up carrying her for practically the whole afternoon.

In the evening, I had to go & pick up Daryl from school as Kel couldn't make it back in time. As I need to shower, I put Dawn down in her cot. During that 5 mins which I took, she cried so badly that she got hiccups afterwards. Seeing her in that state, I don't know whether I should laugh or cry. Laugh coz she looks so comical with her red face & big teardrops dripping down her face. Cry coz she's so clingy that I can't do anything.

Luckily she was okie during the drive to Daryl's school. Usually she would wailed whenever she was put into her carseat. I have a gut feel that she don't like her current carseat. Thus, I put her in Daryl's carseat instead. Hmm... think it's time for her to be upgraded to Daryl's carseat already.

Daryl was a brat as usual after school. I asked him what he wants to eat for dinner. His reply was that he wanted to eat rice with egg. As it had started to rain heavily, I decided to cook at home instead of buying back. I don't think that I can carry a baby & take care of an active toddler at the coffeeshop. The notti boy then proceeded to ask me why I didn't go & buy rice for him at the coffeeshop, all the way home. He nearly drove me mad...

I decided to order MacDonald instead of cooking as Dawn refused to let me put her down. When the food arrived, I had to take care of Daryl's dinner & Dawn at the same time. Before I could finish my food, Daryl was done already & he ran off to wash his hands. I had to chase after him to make sure that he washed his hands properly with soap. I then put Dawn down in her cot so that I can showered Daryl. When I was showering him, the notti gal was wailing the house down. It was so loud that Daryl covered his ears when he was taking his shower. When I was done, I had to bathe Dawn.

After I had showered Daryl, bathe Dawn & changed them into their pyjamas, I was exhausted. I sat down on the bed & lean back against the headrest to rest for a while before going out to the living room to finish my dinner & clear the table. Then the following conversation took place.

D = Daryl
M = Me

D : Mummy, you pom pom already?
M : Not yet.
D : Why you never go pom pom?
M : Coz I am very tired.
D : Why you very tired?
M : Coz I need to take care of you & mei mei.
D : Why you need to take care of me & mei mei?
M : Coz I scared that mei mei fall down the bed

Daryl paused for a while, then he replied :

D : Mummy, you go pom pom. I take care of mei mei.
M : But mei mei will fall down the bed.
D : No... I hold mei mei. So mei mei will not fall down

With that last sentence, he actually walked to Dawn who's sitting in the middle of the bed, sat down behind her & held her in his arms. It was so sweet that my heart melts... It's times like this that I feel that everything that I have done for them are worth it.
