Dawn's 1st Birthday Party on 11 July 2009

Dawn turns 1 year old on 16 July. To celebrate her big day, we decided to hold a party for her. To accomodate all our guests, we intend to book the BBQ pit & the function room together. However, the function room is fully booked today as 1 of the resident is holding his/her ROM party there. Thus, we had to hold 2 parties instead.

Today's party is held at the BBQ pit & it's for Kel's colleagues & friends. Instead of doing the BBQ ourselves as per the previous times, we decided to order the GSS Barbeque Special from Stamford Catering Services. In addition, we also hired a chef from Stamford to bbq for us. This would give us more time to socialise with our guests. The menu tonight consists of :

Starter
- Tangy coleslaw with sultanas

International Fruit Salad
(Variety of honeydew, red apple, green apple, pineapple & mango, lightly tossed with mayonnaise)

On the Grill (Raw)
- Oriental style smoked chicken kebab
- Crushed black pepper minute steak
- Kaffir lime & lemon grass seabass fillet
- Fresh prawn on skewer
- Spicy devil squid on skewer
- Otak otak wrapped in coconut leaf
- Warm portbello mushroom with daikon radish

Chef's Special Condiments
- Exotic black pepper sauce
- Lime vinaigrette

D.I.Y Corner
- Traditional laksa lemak
(Ingredients of bean sprouts, sliced fishcake, eggs, tau pok, laksa leaves, served with sambal chilli)

Hot Food Feast
- Cheese baked rice with walnuts & shredded parsley
- Curry chicken with potatoes
- Garlic butter bruschetta

Sweet Tempetations
- Assorted mini pastries
- Chilled almond jelly with peach & pineapple

Beverage Corner
- Refreshing fruit punch

Halfway into the party, it started to drizzle! As we had to find shelter for our guests, Kel went to ask the security guards whether they can open up the function room for us since no one is using it at the moment. After calling the chairman & getting his consent, the guard opened up the function room for us.

The party ended at about 10pm when we had to vacant the function room. As we don't have a birthday cake for today's party, all our guests were given a small cake as a gift.
































I hope that all our guests enjoyed themselves despite the rain. :)

Father's Day

Today is Father's Day. We didn't have any celebrations as Kel didn't want 1. Actually I think it's coz he didn't do anything for Mother's Day, thus he can't justify celebrating Father's Day. :p

In the afternoon, Daryl wanted to go swimming again! He was so enthusiastic about it that he ran to the clothes rack where Asty had hung our swimsuits to dry to take them. Then he passed them to us & asked us to change. Seeing how happy he was, we relented & went to change.

Afterwards, I carried Dawn back home to shower & change so that she can take her nap. Kel, Daryl & Asty continued their swim.

Daryl had a great time at the pool again. This time, he was not so afraid of the water already. Kel told me that he even attempt to walk in the pool without any assistance from Kel or Asty.




























































































Daryl had such a great time playing at the pool that he didn't want to go home. He played from 2.30pm to 5pm. His skin were all wrinkled already. Kel had to bluff him that he's going to buy MacDonald for dinner to entice him to leave the pool. :p

What a great way to spend Father's Day!

McFlurry Face

I bought food from McDonald for dinner just now. 1 of the items which I bought was an Oreo McFlurry which I intend to eat it as my dessert. For some reason, Daryl wants to eat it. It was kinda of strange coz he was never an ice cream guy. He don't really like eating it as he feels that it's too cold. Since he requested, I gave it to him.

He was such a messy eater that he got the oreo bits all over his face.



































I had a hard time washing it off his face when it's time for his shower after his dinner as it had dried up. Note to self: never let Daryl eat McFlurry when the maid is not free to shower him. :p

Eating Biscuits

Daryl went to dig in my bag just now & found a half eaten pack of Pigeon biscuits. The biscuits were leftovers from Dawn & my afternoon's outing. We went out for lunch with Mum & Kat at Crystal Jade. After lunch, we went shopping at Takashimaya as I need to shop for Tasha's full month's present.

While shopping, I saw that Pigeon got 20% discount for most of their products. Thus, I bought the biscuits for Dawn as she likes it a lot. As she was fussing while I was shopping, I gave her some to keep her quiet. Thus, the leftovers.

The biscuits are 1 of Daryl's fav too. Therefore, he wanted to eat it when he saw it. When Dawn saw the biscuits, she fussed as she wanted to eat it too. Thus, I told Daryl to share the biscuits with mei mei & he actually did. He gave 1 to her & she started to laugh. It was so heartwarming...

Dawn likes to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, especially the beginning & the end coz of the song. Whenever she heards the song, she would be glued to the TV & start to 'dance'.
