Sending Da Yi Off

Pris is flying off to Beijing today for 5 weeks for work. Her company is in charge of managing the Singapore Embassy in Beijing, thus they have a guy stationed there. However, he needs to come back to Singapore for his reservist, therefore, they are sending Pris over to take over his duties while he comes back to Singapore.

We decided to send her off at the airport as it's the 1st time that she would be away for such a long time. Her flight is at 8.45am, thus she has to check in 2 hours before her flight. We reached the airport at about 6.30am. This means that I have to wake up at 5am while Kel & Daryl woke up at 5.30am. Luckily, Daryl didn't kicked up any fuss as he was so excited about going out. I think that it's partly coz we promised to bring him to MacDonald for breakfast. :p

After checking in her luggage, we proceeded to MacDonald for breakfast.

As Daryl is restless already, he asked me to walk walk. We walked around MacDonald. At the entrance, we met Pris who's going to the Ladies. Thus, we took some pics of the 2 of them together with Ronald MacDonald.

After breakfast, Pris had to check in already. We sent her off & watched her cleared the immigration. This time, Daryl let Hock Siong carried him while they watched Pris enter the transit area. Daryl was so cute, when I asked him where is Da Yi, he actually replied me, "Da Yi take airplane." We all laughed when we heard that. Then we went to the viewing gallery so that Daryl can watch the airplanes up close. We parted ways with Hock Siong then so that he can go home & rest. He had slept very late last night & woke up very early this morning.

At the viewing gallery, we can see the plane that Pris will be taking as it was parked nearby. I pointed out the airplane to Daryl & told him that Da Yi will be flying in the airplane. He told me with a cheeky smile, "Da Yi take airplane."

Soon after, we left the airport to send Mum & Kat back home. We will be back again in 5 weeks' time to pick up Pris again. Till then...

Celebrating Hari Raya Puasa

Today is Hari Raya Puasa, thus we thought of bringing Asty out for a nice dinner. We decided to have our dinner at Ikea Tampiness. After that, we can go grocery shopping at Giant Tampines.

On the way to Ikea, Kel needs to buy 4D. So we detoured to a provision shop near our place. We waited for Kel in the car as kids are not allowed inside the shop. While waiting, Daryl said, "Cheese" to me. This means that he wants to take pics with me. So I took out my camera & took these.

When Kel came back, we went to Ikea for dinner. After dinner, we went to Giant to do our grocery shopping. However, Daryl was not being cooperative while we were there. He don't want to sit in the trolley & insisted on being carried by me! He refused to let anyone else carry him. Carrying a 15kg boy is no joke. In addition, I can't carry him for long due to my operation last month. In the end, we decided to cut our shopping short & went home. What a way to end our Hari Raya Puasa...

Thank You

After lunch, I was sitting on the sofa watching Daryl play with his 'toys' which consist of some plastic bowls, bottles & spoons. I'm always amazed at how he can entertained himself with so little stuff. 1 of the items that he was playing with was a tin box from Fisherman's friend. Daryl couldn't open it so he came to me.

D : Mami, open.
Y : Daryl, you cannot be so rude, must say pls okie.
D : Pls...
Y : No, you must say, Mami, open pls.
D : Mami, open pls.
Y : Good boy

So I gave him a kiss & opened the tin box. His reaction after that surprised me. He actually said, "Tank you" & smiled at me!!

I thought it was a fluke, so I tested him a few times. Each time, he would say "Tank you" to me. Even though his pronounciation is not very accurate, I am satisfied already!

I Know My ABCs...

I realised that Daryl knows his ABCs today! I was working in the study room when he came in to find me. He stretched out his hand to me & said, "Mami, walk walk..." I replied, "Daryl, you must say pls okie, cannot be so rude 1." So Daryl said again, "Mami, walk walk pls..."

Seeing the beseeching look on his face, I got up from my seat & followed him out of the study room. He pulled me to his table & asked me to sit down. Then he said, "A B C..." & pointed to the sketcher in front of him. So I took the sketcher's pen & started to write as Daryl recited.

I was very amazed that he managed to recite all the alphabets. Even though he got some of the alphabets mixed up, he remembered the next alphabet when I told him the correct 1. E.g. he always skipped the letter N after M, but when I said N, he remembered that the next letter is O.

With more practice, I am sure that he would be very well versed already. :p

Adidas Boy

Remember my last post about buying new clothes for Daryl? I also found another gem there - an Adidas top & shorts for only S$5.00!

I let Daryl wore it just now when he accompanied Kel downstairs to buy dinner. Kel took these pics while they were waiting for the lift.

Sesame Street Tee

I bought this tee at a shop near Kel's friend's shop on Mid Autumn Festival. Kel & his friend were chatting, since Daryl can't sit for long, I took him for a walk. I chanced upon this shop selling baby & children's clothes. Some of the clothes are quite cheena looking, however, I managed to find some gems there. This is 1 of them. Can you believe it, this tee costs me only S$3.00!

Asty was keeping Daryl' clothes in the afternoon just now. As usual, Daryl was 'helping' her. When he spied this tee, he insist that he wants to wear it. I couldn't resist taking these pics when I saw how cute he looks. :p

Mid Autumn Festival

Today is the 15 day of the 8th lunar month or the Mid Autumn Festival. In addition, it also happens to be Daryl's 25 month's birthday. We didn't do anything special today as Kel & I were very busy these few days. However, since today is a time for family reunions, we made a point to have dinner together.

We went to this coffeeshop @ Aljunied there to have dinner. Not coz the food there is super nice, but coz Kel needs to go for an appt nearby after dinner. See how practical we are? We had a simple dinner there. After dinner, we adjoined to Kel's friend's shop there. While Kel & I were chatting with our friend, Daryl was having fun playing with his lantern & Kel's friend's kids.

At about 10.30pm, we decided to head for home as Daryl is very tired already. He nearly fell asleep in the car on the way home. Luckily I noticed it & managed to keep him awake. If not, he's going to be very cranky when we are home. After a quick shower, he hit the pillow & fell asleep already.

Early Mid Autumn Celebration

Mid Autumn Festival falls on 25 Sep 2007 this year. As it's time for family reunion, we decided to go back to my mum's place for dinner tonight since we are not able to go back on the actual day coz it falls on a Tue.

Daryl had a great time there as usual. In the afternoon, I felt a bit sleepy & wanted to take a nap. However, Daryl had other plans...

Since I am holding Daryl, I decided to have my 'revenge'.


After my 'revenge', I tried to take a nap while Kat entertained Daryl. But instead of playing with him, she decided to style his hair.

Something funny happened in the evening after dinner. He went to take his bag & brought it to me. He kept pointing to one of the side pockets & said, "Open open". So I opened it to see what he wants. Inside the side pocket, it's a travel sized bottle of his bath gel which we used to wash his hands if we are outside. He kept pointing to it & said, "Take take" I didn't want him to play with it so I didn't take it out for him. To distract him, I told him that if he wants to take it out, then he'll have to go & bath. To my surprise, he didn't protest at all. He repeated, "Take take". Thus, I took out his bath gel for him. He took it with a cheeky smile. Then, he pulled my mum to the bathroom while holding on to his bath gel. We were very surprised by this coz whenever we asked him 2 bathe, he would kicked up a big fuss. Since he's such a 'good' boy, I decided to bathe him. He let me do so without any fuus or protest. My mum & sis were laughing all this while.

After his shower, I dressed him & he was satisfied. My mum was saying that he probably felt very hot & sticky after all the playing. Thus, he wanted a shower to cool himself down. :p

We left my mum's place at about 9pm as Daryl is very tired already. As usual, he didn't take his afternoon nap. Thus he fell asleep once the car started. However, when we reached home, he woke up. It was just nice as we can bathe & changed him into his pyjamas. Hopefully he can fall asleep soon.

At Popo's Place

Kel & I had to go for a few appts in the afternoon. Since Asty is still in pain, we decided to put him at my mum's place while we went for our appts. After our appts, I would go back to my mum's place to help my mum to look after Daryl & do some work while Kel went for his appts.

Daryl had a great time at my mum's place in the afternoon. The amazing thing is, he amused himself with 2 plastic bottles, 2 plastic bowls & some small plastic plates that's all.

At about 7pm, Pris came back. After dinner, she was playing with Daryl when Daryl pointed to her handphone & said cheese. So Pris obliged & took these pics.





















































































































At about 8pm, Kat came back too. She also played with Daryl after having her dinner. Daryl enjoyed himself a lot as both his Yee Yees were there to play with him. We left at about 9pm when Kel came to pick us up. What a great day for him...
