I just realised that Dawn can clap her hands! The 2 of us were watching the MAGIQ DVD just now. When the singing started, Dawn was so happy that she was waving her hands all about. Then I noticed that she started clapping her hands.
Initially she couldn't really put her hands togther & clap properly. After a few tries, she managed to do it successfully! I was so happy that I kept watching her clap her hands. I think she must be wondering why I am watching her instead of the DVD. :p

Holding her Milk Bottle
I sent Kel to Nissan just now as he needs to send his car in for repairs. My dear hubby crashed his car into a van on Friday night. I was very angry with him about the accident. On the other hand, I am glad that he's okie.
When we got back from Nissan, we saw Dawn lying on the sofa drinking her milk. It was the 1st time that I saw her holding her milk bottle herself & drinking from it. She looks so cute that I couldn't resist taking pics. :p

My 1st Mother's Day Present
Having been a mummy for 4 years, I haven't received a single gift for Mother's Day yet. Kel is not an expressive person, thus I have resigned myself to not receiving anything on Mother's Day.
However, this year's Mother's Day is a very special 1 for me. I got a present from Daryl!! I was reading the newspapers at the coffee table when Daryl asked me where did I keep his file. FYI, he has this plastic folder which he would bring back every Friday. The folder would contain the work & the artwork that he has done for the past week so that I know what he has been doing in school for the past week. I told him that his file is on the dining table's chair. Thus, he can go & take it himself.
Daryl then walked to the dining table to take his file. Then he carried the file to the sofa behind me & sat down to open it. I didn't think much of it as he always does that. However, this time is different. He took out a card from his file & he said, "Mummy, I got present for you." I was very surprised. Thus, I turned back to see him. I asked him, "Oh, what present is that?" Daryl then gave me this...

It was a card which he had made himself. Inside the card, he wrote...

He had also drawn a train for me.
After he had given me the card, he hugged me & said, "Mummy, Happy Mother's Day! I love you!" He even gave me a kiss! Awwww... he totally melts my heart. It's times like this that I feel that whatever I had done for him is good enough already.

Daryl & Dawn Playing
Kel & I were watching TV while Daryl & Dawn was playing with Daryl's board books on the bed. As usual, Dawn went to bite Daryl's board books. What follows is documented in the vid below...

Dawn fell off the Bed... for the 2nd time...
I was working in the study room when I heard a very loud thump just now. Fearing the worst, I jumped out of my chair & ran to our bedroom.
My worst fear was confirmed when I entered our room & switched on the light. Dawn had indeed fell off our bed again for the 2nd time! Kel was carrying her in his arms trying to pacify her. When she saw me, she wailed even more loudly. She only calmed down when I carried & soothed her. Her left cheek was bruised again. The irony is that the both times that she fell off our bed, it was her left cheek that bear the brunt of the fall even though she fell from different sides of our bed. Poor baby...
Actually I had no idea how she fell off our bed. I had fed her at about 12 midnight. When she was sound asleep, I padded her left side with 2 pillows & 1 bolster. Kel was at her right side, thus I didn't see a need to pad that side. With that, I left our room to work in the study room. I suspected that she might have woken up. In her daze, she might have sat up, then she went to lie down on 1 of the pillow. When she was sound asleep, she might have flipped, thus she flipped onto the floor.
Kel was very angry with me for leaving her on the bed while I went to work. In turn, I blamed him for not taking care of Dawn while I was working. It's times like this that I wish that I can be a full time sahm. Then I don't have to work & can concentrate on looking after my kids. Currently, I feel so torn between my kids & work. Haiz...
Hopefully, this would be the last time that she fell off our bed. I am definitely making sure that this would not happened again!

Daryl Scolding Dawn
Kel & I were sitting on the bed watching the 10pm news when Daryl & Dawn started 'fighting'. The 'fight' started when Dawn started to bite on 1 of Daryl's board book. Whenever Dawn bite on anything, we would normally take it away from her. Daryl saw us doing it a few times. Thus, he followed what we did this time. Dawn, of coz, was not very happy at her book being taken away. She started crying. I told her to stop crying as she cannot bite on kor kor's books. Daryl, adding oil to fire, told Dawn that she's a notti gal. Our feisty retaliated by beating her kor kor. *faint*
I only managed to take a vid of the 2nd part of the fight as Kel & I were laughing too hard during the 1st half to do anything.
This vid always make me laugh whenever I see it. Enjoy...

A & E Visit
Yesterday night was the longest night that I ever had.
Kel & I had switched off the lights in our room at about 10.30pm last night to make Daryl & Dawn sleep. I wanted to get up & do some work after the kids had slept. However, I was too tired & fell asleep soon after.
In the middle of the night at about 1am, I woke up all of a sudden. Then I heard Daryl mumbling, then a retching sound, then Kel jumping out of bed to switch on the light in our room. To my horror, I saw Daryl using his right hand to cover his mouth while retching. His pillow & his side of the bed was stained red with his vomit. I was horrified & went to his side. Kel immediately carried him out of bed & ran to the toilet where Daryl proceeded to vomit out his dinner. By then, Dawn woke up due to all the commotion. I tried to pacify her by feeding her. While feeding Dawn, I saw Daryl stumbled out of the bathroom. He walked to the bay window, climbed up the ledge, sat down in a daze & started to shiver uncontrollably. I was horrifed. I had never seen him behave this way at all. Thus, I unlatched Dawn & ran to his side. I asked him what was wrong & he told me that he's very cold. I took his blanket & covered him. Then I carried him to our bed & covered him with our blanket while carrying him in my lap. By then, Dawn was wailing her lungs out coz she was woken up & she didn't get to finish her milk feed.
Kel who was in the bathroom cleaning up Daryl's mess came out of the bathroom then. Apparently, Daryl didn't managed to puke into the toilet bowl, thus he had puked onto the floor, creating a mess. Kel helped me to carry Dawn. As Daryl felt very, very hot, he went to take the thermometer to measure his temperature. To our horror, his temperature measured 40.5 degrees celsius!! Kel passed Dawn to me so that he can go out to the kitchen to take the fever patch & paracetamol for Daryl. When he came back, I passed Dawn back to him so that I can stick the fever patch on Daryl's forehead. Daryl cried when I pasted it on his forehead. He kept telling me that the patch is very cold, so he wants me to take it out. Seeing him cry makes my heart break. My poor boy... Then I fed him the paracetamol. We were very worried as his temperature is so high. I sat there holding him in my arms while Kel carried Dawn.
About 10 minutes passed. Daryl still felt very hot to our touch. When we measured him again, his temperature still remain at 40.5 degrees celsius. The worse thing is, Daryl had started to mumble nonsense. When we talked to him, it's as if he didn't know that we were there. I told Kel that we should sponge him to try to bring down his temperature. As we needed help with Dawn, I ran out of the room to wake Asty up. Then Kel passed Dawn to her while we sponged Daryl.
Daryl seem to 'woke' up when we started to sponge him with iced water. He started crying & told us to stop. I also cried when I heard him crying.
The sponging didn't do Daryl any good. At 2am, his temperature still remain at 40.5 degrees celsius. It was then we decided to bring him to KKH's A & E department. I went to change while Kel kept sponging him. When I was done, it was Kel's turn to change while I packed my bag. I brought Daryl's health booklet & birth certificate along just in case...
When we reached the hospital, we were attended to immediately by a nurse. She assessed Daryl, then she told us to register at a counter, pay the consultation fees & wait for the doctor to attend to us.
During the wait, Daryl is very sticky. He refused to sit in the chair by himself & kept wanting me or Kel to hold him. After a 2 hours wait, we finally managed to see the doctor. He diagnosed Daryl as having a viral infection. Thus, he prescribed medicines for his fever, phlegm & runny nose. After the consultation, I am more at ease knowing that there's nothing wrong with Daryl. We walked to the pharmacy to take Daryl's medicines, then headed for home.
On the way home, Daryl told me that he's hungry. I was so happy to hear that. If he's hungry, it means that he's on the mend already. Thus, I asked Daryl what he wants to eat. To my surprise, he told me that he wants to eat porridge. Kel then drove around Bedok trying to look for a coffeeshop which is open & sells porridge. However, we didn't managed to find 1. I am not surprised. At 5am in the morning, finding a stall selling porridge is a like searching for a needle in a haystack. I told Kel to drive home so that I can cook for Daryl.
When we reached home, we found Asty sleeping on the sofa carrying Dawn. The notti gal must have woken up again. Haiz, when will she sleep through the night? Thus, Kel woke Asty up & carried Dawn into our room to sleep while I went to the kitchen to cook Daryl's porridge. While waiting, Daryl lied down on the sofa while watching Playhouse Disney. While waiting for the porridge to boil, I went to shower & change. I think Dawn must have some kind of sensor. She woke up just when I came out of the shower. As the porridge was cooking halfway, I carried her out so that Kel can look after her. When she saw her kor kor, she was so happy that she started screaming in delight. *faint*
Once the porridge was done, Asty brought it out for Daryl to eat. He only managed to eat 1/2 a bowl. However, I am very happy already. After that, Kel carried Daryl into our room to sleep while I carried Dawn in.
That concludes the end of our very long night.

9 Months Old
Kel & I brought Dawn to the Marine Parade Polyclinic for her 9 months old assessment just now in the morning. How time flies...
Dawn now weighs 9.2kg & is 70cm long. This explains why my arms get tired more easily these days when I am carrying her. :p The nurse was a bit concerned about her lack of length. Coz at her last checkup in Nov 2008, she was 68.5cm long. This means that she has only grown 1.5cm in 5 months. The nurse told us to bring her back again when she's 1 year old to monitor again. Hopefully, this is not of any concern.

Dawn is Cruising
I was taking my break just now by playing with Dawn at the sofa. After playing for a while, I sat her down on the sofa to rest. The restless gal decided to crawl on the sofa instead. As I was afraid that she would fall off the sofa, I put her down on the floor to crawl instead while I continued to sit on the sofa.
She crawled on the floor for a while, then she crawled towards me as she wanted to play with me. She pulled herself up from the floor & started to 'beat' my legs. I was laughing & playing peekaboo with her. After a while, she got bored & started to look around. She spied the chest of drawers beside the sofa.
Instead of crawling to the chest of drawers as she always did, she started to walk towards it! Since she can't walk without assistance, she actually held onto the sofa & gingerly walked towards the chest of drawers. I was so amazed! She got this very intense look of concentration on her face which makes me smile whenever I think of it.
When she reached the chest of drawers, she turned around to look at me with a cheeky look on her face. It's as if she's saying, 'Mummy, see, I can walk already...'

Crawling Time
Dawn had been crawling for weeks already. However, I didn't managed to capture it till just now...
Daryl & Dawn's Bath Time
The weather is so hot today that we decided to let the kids play in the bathtub after lunch.
Daryl was so happy to hear that that he ran to the bathroom to take off his clothes. He also helped Kel to ran the water & to pour all his balls into the bathtub.
Dawn was a bit hesitant initially. However, when she saw how much fun her kor kor is having, she relented & let Asty took off her romper & diaper.

After 10 minutes, we took Dawn out as we didn't want her to catch a cold. Daryl continued to play inside. About 1/2 hour later, we stopped him as his skin was getting very wrinkly already. What a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon...

6th Wedding Anniversary
Today, Kel & I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. Time passes by so fast... We have been together for 10 years & married for 6 years already.
We decided to go for a buffet dinner at The Line @ Shangri-La Hotel. Esther was the 1 who brought me to the place a few months back. I like the place & the variety of food there, thus I thought of going there for our celebration. The other reason is that there's a 15% discount if payment is made by a UOB credit card. :p
We picked up Daryl from school at about 5.30pm. Then went home to shower & change. After that, we set off.

See how handsome Daryl look wearing Kel's sunglasses. :p He told Kel that the sun is very bright, thus he needs to wear the sunglasses. *faint*

He got fed up of me taking his pics & turned around.
When we reached Shangri-La, we parked our car at the basement carpark & walked to the restaurant. In order to reach The Line, we had to walked up 2 storeys from the basement carpark to the surface carpark, walked through the surface carpark, the driveway, the hotel lobby, down 1 flight of escalator. It was no joke walking all the way while carrying a sleeping Dawn. I had forgotten about the walk, if not, I would have asked Kel to valet park the car. Kel was complaining about the long walk. I told him to try walking that distance in high heels & while carrying his sleeping princess. That shut him up. :p
At The Line, we settled down at our table. Then Kel & Daryl went to get some food as I had to carry the still sleeping Dawn.
