The Sun Goes Down

After watching the play - "In the Ocean with Gloobaloo", Dawn likes 1 of the songs - "When the Sun Goes Down" a lot. She likes it so much that she actually learnt the whole song by herself, courtesy of Youtube.

Today, while on our drive to Tampines Mall for dinner, Class 95 played this song & she started singing to it.

Daryl's P1 Learning Journey to the Zoo

Today all the P1 pupils in Daryl's school will be embarking on a Learning Journey to the Zoo.

According to the letter that was given to us, the objective of this Learning Journey is for the pupils to research on various animals in order to complete a class writing activity.

For the Learning Journey, he has to wear his P.E. attire & bring the following items :

1. Water bottle
2. An English storybook for silent reading
3. Healthy snacks
4. Ponchos / Raincoats / Umbrellas
5. A cap
6. Pencils & erasers for writing
7. Clip board for writing (optional)

He was so excited about this outing that he went to bed very early last night.

When we picked him up after school, we asked him about his maiden primary school outing. To our surprise, he 'complained' that the outing was very boring. Reason being, he has to follow his class & walked. Thus, he can't run about as freely as our previous outings to the zoo. When we asked him what did he do during the outing, he said that they only looked at animals & do worksheets. Well, I guessed the outing is not as fun as what he had expected.

Hopefully his next school outing will be more fun for him.

Puzzle Time

I was browsing through the SingaporeMotherhood forum the other day when I chanced upon a mummy who is selling 4 brand new Barney puzzles at a bargain. Since Dawn had been pestering me for the longest time that she wanted 1, I decided to buy them for her.

The parcel came 2 days ago via registered mail. However, I was not home to receive it. Thus, after picking up Daryl from school today, I went to the post office to pick up the parcel.

Dawn was sooo thrilled to see the puzzles when she got home from school. She insisted that she wants to do the puzzles now. I refused & told her that she can do them before her bedtime.

After her shower, Dawn kept pestering me to unwrap the puzzles for her. Once I had done so, she started doing them. I wanted to see how much she can do by herself, thus I didn't help her. To my surprise, she managed to do about 1/2 of the puzzle before she gave up & asked me for help.

The 1/2 finished puzzle.

I helped her to finish the rest of the puzzle.

Dawn with the finished puzzle.

After she was done, we started on the 2nd puzzle.

Dawn with the 2 finished puzzles.

She had such fun doing them that she kept re-doing them. As for the other 2, I'll keep them for the time being & bring them out only when she's bored with the current 2. :p

Daryl

Teacher Joyce smsed me yesterday night asking me for some of Daryl's baby photos. As I don't have them in hard copy, I asked whether I can email the soft copies to her. She said yes. Then my next question is, how many do you need? She replied that she needs at least 5. So I was cracking my head on how to choose 5 photos out of the thousands that I have. Then it hit me... I can choose them based on every 6 months of his life. So here are my selections...

2.5 years old

Looking through those photos brings back lots & lots of memories!! Time really flies... Soon, my baby is going to graduate from K2 already...

Loved

Kel & I had a huge fight on Tue, which resulted in a cold war between the 2 of us these 2 days. In addition, he had not been home early these 2 nights. It could be coz of work, or he was trying to avoid me. Either way, I guessed that the kids could sense the tension between the 2 of us. While I was taking my shower after settling the kids & the housework just now, the kids drew these pics for me.

Daryl's pic

Dawn's pic. The 1st 2 represents flowers & the 3rd pic is a heart shaped love for me.

They are soooooo sweet that it brought tears to my eyes. At least I know that I am loved by my kids.

Princess Dawn Helping Out Again

Dawn had been helping me to take out the laundry from the washer after it's washed these days. Today is no exception. The only 'difference' is that she asked me to take pics of her when she's taking out the laundry. :p

Dawn Singing "Tang Guo Yuan"

Dawn's class got a new Chinese teacher recently - Teacher Gu. She had been teaching Dawn's class some new songs. This song is 1 of the songs which Dawn likes to sing... a lot...

Just now, we were at Parkway Parade's basement foodcourt having our dinner. While waiting for Kel to come back with our food, I managed to 'persuade' Dawn to sing this song so that I can finally record it. :p

Princess Dawn Helping Out

I had been doing the housework eversince Asty left. As today is a Sat, I had tons of housework to do, among them, the laundry.

When the laundry was done, I went to take the clothes out from the washer so that I could hang them out to dry. For some reason, Dawn decided to help me out by taking out the clothes from the washer. She was wearing the 'crown' from Daryl's Mac birthday party when she was helping me out. As she looks so cute doing so, I can't resist taking pics. :p

As the pail is not able to hold all the clothes, Dawn actually pressed down on the clothes to try to fit them inside the pail. I am actually very surprised to see that she knows how to do that as I had never taught her that.

Daryl then came in to check on us. When he saw Dawn helping me, he also wants to help out.

Now... if only I can get them to do the laundry as well... :p

Dawn's 3rd Lunar Birthday

Dawn's lunar 3rd birthday falls on 14 July this year, 2 days before her actual day. Thus, I decided to bring her out for dinner tonight & have an early birthday celebration for her.

After picking up the kids from school, we went to Parkway for dinner & to buy the birthday cake. For dinner, Dawn chose to go to Swensons. I didn't take any pics during dinner as I was looking after the 2 kids by myself. Kel had gone to the StarHub shop nearby to buy his new handphone as his current 1 is giving him a lot of problems.

When we were done with dinner, Kel is still not back yet. Thus, I asked for the bill so that we can go & look for him instead of waiting for him coz I don't think the kids got that kind of patience. While waiting for the waitress, I took pics of them.

I love the pics a lot as it shows how loving they are. If only they are that loving ALL the time... :p

After dinner, we bought an ice cream cake from Swensons. Reasons being, they have got the mickey / minnie mouse designs which is Dawn's favourite character & I have a 20% discount voucher for their cakes. In the end, Dawn chose this cake.

We had to rush home straight away as Swensons had ran out of dry ice (??). Thus, the manager told us that we had to be home soon as the cake would start to melt after 20 minutes. Needless to say that it was a mad rush home.

Once we reached home, Dawn can't wait to eat her cake.

See how happy she is? P/S, there are only 2 candles on her cake as she only wants 2 candles. When I want to put the 3rd candle on the cake, she threw a huge tantrum. Since she is the birthday gal, I gave in to her wish.

Dawn sneaking a taste of her cake while Kel went to take his lighter.

Family pic

After the photo taking, Kel lighted up the candles. Dawn was so eager to eat her cake that she didn't even wait for us to sing the birthday song & blew out the candles straight away. *faint*

Cutting her cake with my help.

Enjoying the cake.

Happy birthday my darling!! May you grow up to be a healthy, pretty & smart gal!! :)
