Orange Watch

I realised that Daryl likes stuff which are orange in colour or has got some orange colour in them. E.g. oranges, 1 of his cars which got an orange top, his sandals which is orange & brown in colour, 1 set of his clothes which is orange & grey in colour, etc.

Today, we went back to my mum's place as it's National Day. When we were going back, my mum suddenly remembered that she has an orange watch which she can give to her grandson. She told us to wait while she went to take the watch.

When she found it, she put it on for Daryl. You know what, he stood there like a good little boy & let my mum wear the watch for him. We were so amazed. Our previous attempts to wear anything on his hands were always rebuffed.

The funny thing is, when Daryl was wearing the watch, he would hold up his arm as if he's afraid that the watch would drop should he put down his hands. :p We were laughing when we saw that. I forgot to take a pic of him then as I was laughing too hard. I only remembered when we reached home.

Bye Tata...

I usually have a shower before bedtime. Tonight is no exception. However, Daryl did something tonight which made me laugh.

When I came out of our bathroom after my shower, Daryl came running to me holding the TV's remote control in his hands. He put the remote control in my hand & pulled me to our bed. When we reached our bed, Daryl said, "Bye Tata" while waving his hands. FYI, tata is Asty. I taught Daryl to call her Kaka as a sign of respect. As he can't pronounced the K sound, his kaka sounds like tata. The funniest thing is, after saying that, he went to open our bedroom's door, signalling that he wants Asty to leave our room.

When Asty heard what Daryl said, her answer was, "Okie, u don't want me, then I go out." Then she got up to leave the room. Daryl went to pull her hand & led her towards the door. At the door, he stood there & said,"Bye tata" & waved his hands again.

After Asty had left the room, Daryl closed the door & walked back to our bed with a smug grin on his face. By then, I was in stitches already. I couldn't believe that he actually said & did that. He's such a notti boy...

Meh Meh

Daryl has a fascinaton with small animals such as birds, cats & dogs, etc. He can watch them for hours without getting bored. Daryl calls bird as bird bird, dog is dog dog or woof woof while cat is cat cat or meh meh, depending on his mood. Why meh meh for cat? Coz he can't pronounce meow meow, thus it came out as meh meh... It always brings a smile to my face whenever I heard that.

Today, on our way back home in the afternoon, we chanced upon a cat at the staircase landing. This cat has been a very frequent visitor to our home recently as it has taken to having naps outside our house. Thus when Daryl saw it, he was very excited. He decided that he wants to have a chat with the cat at the staircase landing right there.

Disney Training Pants

I bought 3 more pairs of training pants for Daryl from Little Tots Closet as I feel that his current 2 pairs is not enough.
























However, in order to successfully toilet trained him, I think that I would need more training pants. Since Little Tots Closet have limited stocks, I think that I would have to source from elsewhere already.

Today, I let Daryl wear the Disney training pants. As he looks so cute wearing it, Kel couldn't resist taking some pics.









































































Hopefully, Daryl can be toilet trained soon. His diaper expenses is probably going to bankrupt us soon as he's now wearing XXL size diapers already. :p

Golf

Kel is an avid golfer, thus he would play golf whenever his schedule permits. Today is 1 of those days.

This morning, when Kel was packing his golf bag in our room, Daryl followed him into the room & sat on the bed to watch his daddy. Before packing his stuff into his golf bag, Kel would place them on the bed 1st to ensure that he didn't left anything out. Daryl was watching his every move. After a while, Daryl couldn't resist the temptation & started to play with Kel's stuff. When Kel saw that, he couldn't resist to let Daryl wear his stuff.

Kel & I were in stitches when we saw Daryl in his new outfit. It was with great reluctance that he took his stuff off Daryl.

Daryl the Drama King

Daryl did something really funny just now in the afternoon.

I was working in the study room when Daryl came to pull me out of the room. I followed him out to the living room. He gestured for me to sit down on the sofa beside him. to watch his cartoon with him, or rather, I was watching the cartoon while Daryl was playing with his cars beside me.

Suddenly, he bent down to knock his head on his cars. I didn't do anything & waited to see what would be his reaction. (P/S : it's not that I am hard hearted. It's just that it's the 1st time that I had seen Daryl do that. I had a feeling that he wants attention from me, thus I wanted to see what he's going to do.) My drama boy went, " Ehh......" It sounded like a cry, but it's not really a cry. Then he pointed to his forehead & went "Head... pain pain... head... pain pain..." I controlled my laughter & told him, "Darling, it serves you right! Who asked you to hit your head against your car car?" His reply was, "Head... pain pain..." Then he took my hand so that I can sayang his head. When I heard that, I played along. I went, "Oh, head... pain pain ah... okie, nevermind, then mummy kiss k. Then no more pain pain already..." I kissed his forehead a few times. Seeing no reaction from him, I kissed his forehead a few more times till he pulled away. Then you know what he did? He went, "Pain pain no more... pain pain no more..." The funniest thing is, he was twirling his hands around when he said that. Coupled with this very serious look on his face, I was laughing so hard that my sides hurt. My darling is such a drama king...

When Kel came back from his appt at night, I told him about what his baobei did. Kel went to tease Daryl about what he said to me just now, I think Daryl knew that we were teasing him. He went to hide his face in Kel's legs. It was soooooo funny... We had a good laugh about it again...

Daryl My Sweetheart

I woke up this morning with a pulled muscle at the left side of my neck. Think that there's something wrong with my sleeping position last night, thus the pulled muscle. Man... what a way to start my day...

In the late afternoon, when I was sitting at the coffeetable doing my work, my neck seems to be getting more painful. Therefore, I asked Kel to help me to massage my neck. Daryl who was playing nearby was watching us.

After a while, Kel stopped & he jokingly asked Daryl to take over & massaged me. To our surprise, Daryl actually came over & started to thump my neck. I was very touched by his gesture!! The enthusiasm which he showed when thumping my neck really melts my heart. Kel who was watching us teased me about Daryl being a mummy's boy. I retorted that he's just jealous. :p

Jayden's 1st Birthday Party

We attended Jayden's 1st birthday party today. Time flies... It seems only like yesterday when we attended his full month celebrations.

As the party starts at 1pm, we got ready at about 12pm. I went to bath Daryl while Asty went to pack his bag. After his bath, I went to shower while Kel dressed him. Kel even gelled & combed Daryl's hair. Thus, when I came out of the bathroom, I couldn't resist taking some pics of Daryl as he looks so handsome in his outfit. Btw, I was the 1 who chose the outfit for him. :p

After that, Kel the doting dad applied the California Baby calendula cream on Daryl's face as there are some spots on his face.

Jayden's party is held @ Guilin Restaurant, HomeTeam NS @ Bukit Batok. The venue holds special memories for Yvonne as it was where she & Louis held their wedding dinner 4 years back.

At about 3pm, we had to leave as Kel needs to rush off for his appts.

Work Work

Yen Li & Xiao Xuan came over to our place just now after dinner as Xiao Xuan wanted to play with Daryl. While they were playing, Yen Li & I did some catching up.

After a while, my sticky boy came over to the sofa where Yen Li & I were sitting so that he can snuggled up to me. Yen Li asked him, "Di di, where's Papa?" Do you know what he answered? He replied, "Papa work work..." I was very surprised as it was the 1st time that I heard him said that.

Whenever Kel is out for an appt at night, Daryl would sometimes asked me, "Papa, where?" or "Daddy, where?" My reply would be, "Papa is working." or "Daddy is working." Sometimes, lazy me would just say, "Papa work work." I didn't think that he would remembered what I had said, thus I was very surprised when he replied Yen Li that.

This reminds me that I have to be mindful of what I said around Daryl already. I don't want him to be repeating my 'colourful' language to my friends when I least expect it. :p

Daryl & Zephan

Trina & Zephan came over to our house in the morning just now as she needs to pick up the California Baby Calming Shampoo & Body Wash from me. As she's on leave today, we decided to let the 2 boys play together for a while.

Zephan is so cute... When they arrived, I held out my hand to guide him into our house. He was so trusting that he actually held my hand when he came in. It was so heartwarming as Daryl would never do that with a stranger. When he entered the house, he released my hand & went straight into Daryl's play yard to play with the toys inside. Trina was laughing as she said that Zephan is very "automatic".

Just then, Daryl woke up. Thus, Kel went to feed & change him. After that, he came out to check out our guests. He took a while to warm up. Initially he was just standing outside the play yard watching Zephan play. After a while, he went into the play yard tentatively & started to play together with Zephan. I think that they had a great time judging by the pics.

Trina & Zephan had to leave about 1 hour later as Trina had to run some errands. Daryl was a little bit reluctant to see them leave. Let's hope that they can drop by again soon.

All's Well

Daryl's fever had subsided yesterday morning when he woke up. However, we are still keeping our fingers crossed that it stays that way.

This morning, when we woke up, we discovered that Daryl's fever did not returned. Therefore, we concluded that it had run its course already. However, he's been very sticky to me these 2 days still. Kel was saying that he probably still don't feel that well, thus we should monitor him & see how.

Da Yi's Birthday

Today is Pris's birthday. To celebrate her birthday, we decided to meet for lunch & shopping at Vivocity. She wanted to bring my mum to Vivocity to have a look as my mum had not been there since its opening.

When Daryl woke up, it seems that he had gotten up from the wrong side of the bed. He was crying when he woke up instead of his smiley self. Hmm... that's not a very good start to our day. I had to carry him so that he would stopped crying. When I had to leave our room to attend to my client's call, he cried even louder. Kel & Asty couldn't pacify him at all. He only stopped when I came back into the room & carried him. He's such a mummy's boy... :p

As we need to shower Daryl, we took off his pyjamas & diaper. He protested very loudly when we did that. When we shower him, he cried. He only stopped when I carried him in my lap after his shower. Then Kel decided to comb his hair to distract him. The result...

Pris wanted to have lunch @ Sushi Tei, thus we decided to meet at the entrance. When she & my mum reached the entrance at about 11.15am, they found out that they were too early as Sushi Tei only opens at 11.30am. Therefore, they decided to go out of the building to look at the seaview. It was there where we found them when we arrived. Since it was still early, we decided to take some pics.

Lunch at Sushi Tei was horrible! They actually forgot about our order for our main courses. Can you believe that? They only realised it when we complained about how late our main courses are. The customers at the tables beside us who came in later than us are already finishing their main courses wherelse ours have not even arrived yet. To top it off, the attitude of the manager whom we complained to sucks big time. Thus, we decided to award Sushi Tei a spot in our "List of Banned Eating Places".

Halfway through our lunch, Mum brought Daryl out to walk so that we can have our lunch in peace. When we finished our lunch, they were still not back yet. So we waited... & waited... & waited... Then we got worried as it's been a while already. We were afraid that Mum would be lost. We decided to ask for the bill & went to search for them. We kinda of panicked when we couldn't find them outside the restaurant. Then I got a brainwave... Toys R Us is nearby, so I have a feeling that they would be inside.

True enough, Kel found the 2 of them inside Toys R Us. It seems that Daryl had pulled Mum inside so that he can play with the cars there. It seems that our baobei is becoming a car lover as he loves to play with cars of all sizes. Mum said that whenever Daryl saw a car, he would stopped & played with it for a while. The funniest thing is, when he got tired of playing with a particular car, he would actually put it back in its orginal place when my mum asked him to do so. Mum was very impressed!

Kat called Pris when we were at Toys R Us. She had reached Vivocity already, thus she wants to know where to meet us. Pris told her to meet us at Toys R Us. When she arrived, we went shopping. One of our stops was the Nike boutique. Daryl was in heaven there as there was a Mac PC for him to fiddle with. Here's a pic of him with Mum while he was fiddling with the PC. Our shopping was kinda of marred by Daryl coz he was quite notti today. He refused to walk & kept wanting me to carry him. When he walked, he refused to follow us or listened to our instructions. I even smacked him coz I was so fed up with him. Since he was not cooperative, we decided to cut our shopping trip short & headed for home together with Mum, Pris & Kat. Before doing that, we went shopping at Giant to pick up some groceries so that I can prepare dinner for them later.

During dinner, I was complaining to Mum about how notti Daryl is. She said something which got me thinking. She replied that Daryl is not even 2 years old, thus I can't expect him to be well behaved as he doesn't even know what is considered good behaviour. Mum got me thinking whether I am asking for too much from Daryl. With this thought, I resolved to be more patient with Daryl even though he drives me up the wall at times.

At about 7.15pm, Mum, Pris & Kat decided to leave for home as Pris & Kat still got to work tommorrow. I hope that Pris had a nice birthday even though her nephew is such a brat. Happy Birthday!!

Daryl is Having a Fever (Part II)

Daryl's fever has not subsided at all. Worst... his temp had increased during the night. I woke up this morning at 5am to check on him. To my horror, his temp is 40.8 deg! I was horrified! I went out to the kitchen to take his medicine. Then I woke Kel up & asked him to take a basin of water so that we can sponge Daryl down. Daryl was very upset at being sponged down. In the end, we let him play with the water in the basin. By doing so, we hoped that his temp will subsided. Daryl got himself, part of our bed & his cot wet, but we didn't mind coz his temp did subsided slightly. After that, we went back to sleep.

I woke up again at 9.30am. By then, Kel had already woken up & was reading the newspapers in the living room. Daryl was still sleeping soundly, probably due to the effects of the medicine. I got out of bed reluctantly to shower & change so that we can bring Daryl to see Dr Chua. When we were done, Daryl still had not woken up. Seeing his angelic face when he's sleeping, we couldn't bear to wake him up, so we decided to carry him up & go out. However, by doing so, we woke him up. He looked so cute with that blury look on his face... But don't be fooled by that blury look... When we told him that we are going out, he immediately perked up & even waved bye bye & blow a kiss to Asty. It was so funny...

At Dr Chua's clinic, he diagnosed that Daryl is suffering from tonsillitis which is causing his fever. On top of that, he also got a sore throat. No wonder Daryl doesn't have much of an appetite yesterday. It was so bad that he doesn't even want to drink his milk. Dr Chua prescribed paracetamol, antibotics & cough medicine for Daryl. We asked Dr Chua how did he fall sick. Dr Chua's reply is that viruses are very prevalent in the air these days, thus people with low immune systems then to get sick easily. As kids' immune system is not that strong, therefore, they fall sick easily. That was not very reassuring to hear. We can't possibly cooped Daryl at home the whole time. Well, we just have to take 1 step at a time...

After seeing Dr Chua, we went back home so that Daryl can rest. I am keeping my fingers & toes crossed that he'll recover soon.

Daryl is Having a Fever

I woke up this morning to a feverish Daryl. I went to take the thermometer to measure his temp. To my horror, his temp is 38.9 deg. I went to look for Kel to tell him the bad news, but I can't find him at home. I called him on his hp to find that he's downstairs washing the car. I told him the bad news & he replied that he would rushed back soon.

I went to take the liquid paracetamol & fed some to Daryl. During the day, his fever went up & down. It got us very worried, but we were not able to bring him to see Dr Chua as it is a Public Holiday today. Thus his clinic is not opened. All we can do is to feed him the medicine & hope that his fever would subside soon.

D.A.R.Y.L

We have been teaching Daryl the ABCs for a while already. Recently, we started to teach him how to spell his own name. To my surprise, today he managed to spell his own name for me.

Just now, after our dinner, Daryl & I were sitting on the sofa watching TV. Actually... I was sitting on the sofa watching TV while Daryl is sitting on my lap trying to bounce up & down while facing me. During the advertisements, I asked Daryl how to spell his name. I asked a few times, but he ignored me. Therefore, I turned my attention back to the TV advertisements. Then, out of the blue, Daryl suddenly said, "D. A. R. Y. L, Dah leh..." He couldn't pronouced the R sound, thus it sounded like "Dah Leh" when he said his name. It was so cute that I couldn't stopped laughing. I gave him a kiss & told him what a clever boy he is. Kel who was standing nearby heard what Daryl said & was laughing also.

Wearing the Pants

Daryl knows how to wear his shorts!! He had been trying to wear his clothes for a while already. He will take them out of the drawer & try to wear them. However, he had never been able to wear his clothes till today.

As per his morning routine, he was sitting on our bed watching Sesame Street while Asty was packing the room. All of a sudden, he went to his drawer, took out some of his clothes, climbed up onto his bed & tried to wear his clothes. He finally succeed in wearing his blue shorts after a while.

I only knew about it when I went into our room as I wanted to use the bathroom. When I went in, I saw Daryl who was wearing his romper with his shorts askew. Thus I asked Asty why is he dressed in such a funny way. Her reply was that Daryl wore the shorts himself, thus it looks funny. When I heard that, I laughed & gave my notti boy a very big kiss.

Kel the Doting Dad

I told Asty to steam our mattress & sofa today as I feel that there are dust mites inside. In order to get Daryl out of the way, Kel & I decided to bring him out when Kel goes to the office to submit his documents.

We waited in the car while Kel went up to his office. While waiting, I took these pics of Daryl. See how happy he is.















































After Kel was done, we went to Centrepoint to have our lunch & to do some shopping. I was thinking of getting a booster seat for Daryl as I feel that he is outgrowing his car seat already. We had our lunch at Noodle Place Restaurant where Kel the doting dad fed Daryl his porridge.













































































It was so heartwarming to see Kel feeding Daryl. He seldom feeds Daryl as usually Asty or me will feed Daryl. Today, he wanted to give me a break, thus he took over the feeding.

After lunch, we went to Mothercare & Robinsons to check out Daryl's booster seat. We didn't see any which we like, therefore, we decided to shelve the idea for the time being.

Cheeky Boy

Daryl drives me up the walls sometimes! E.g. I was on my way to the kitchen to find some food for lunch just now when I saw him dancing on our coffee table. I told him off & asked him to come down from the table. He refused & still gave me a cheeky smile. Asty, who was coming in from the kitchen, quickly carried him down from the table & put him down on the sofa. I told Asty off for not looking after Daryl while I was working.

Then I turned my attention to Daryl. I scolded him & told him that he's a notti boy for dancing on the table. The cheeky boy pretended not to hear me & fixed his gaze on the TV. When I told him that when I am talking to him, he is not supposed to ignore me. Do you know what he did?

He actually used both his hands to cover his ears!! When I saw that, I don't know whether I should laugh or cry! What I did was that I removed his hands from his ears, smacked his hands for covering his ears & smacked his legs for dancing on the table. Then I went back to our study room. Once inside, I was laughing coz it was so funny!! I can't believe that a 21 months old boy knows how to do that.

I told Kel about it when he came back from his appt. He laughed & said that our notti boy is getting to be cleverer already. I hope that this is not a prelude to Daryl's discplining problems. :p
