Holding Her Head Up High

This morning, when Daryl & Dawn woke up, Kel decided to let Dawn lie on her tummy for some exercise. To our surprise, we discovered that she can hold up her head already.

Feisty Dawn

We were watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse just now when something really funny happened.

I was carrying Dawn on my lap & Daryl was sitting on my right. For some unknown reason, Daryl decided to sit on my leg facing us. By doing so, he blocked me & Dawn from watching the show. I told Daryl to move away, but he wouldn't listen to me. The you know what Dawn did? She started to 'scold' Daryl very loudly! The scene was so funny that I couldn't stop laughing! Pity that I can't video it as I was carrying Dawn.

Kel got back then. When he heard the shouting, he ran into the room to see what had happened. He probably thought that Dawn was crying coz Daryl was bullying her. When he found out what had happened, he couldn't stop laughing too.

After pacifying Dawn, Kel went to take a shower & I took pics. :p

This incident confirms my suspicion... My daughter is 1 feisty gal... :p

Mummy, You Look Very Nice

I came out of the bathroom just now after my evening shower wearing my orange nightgown. I haven't wore this in a while already as it was too tight for me when I was pregnant with Dawn.

Daryl took a 'good' look at me & said, "Mummy, you look very nice..."

Aww... isn't that very sweet... It totally melts my heart when I heard that. :)

Daryl's 3 Years Old Development Assessment & Dawn's 2nd Jab

We brought Daryl & Dawn to the Marine Parade Polyclinic this morning. Daryl will be having his 3 years old developement assessment while Dawn will be having her 3rd month jab & development assessment.

As the Marine Parade Polyclinic is undergoing renovations, we had to go to the Geylang Polyclinic where they are situated for the time being.

Daryl is now 104cm tall & weighs 17kg while Dawn is 60cm long & weighs 6.1kg. The results puts Daryl in the 90 percentile range while Dawn is in 75 percentile range. We were very happy to see Dawn's results. It's such a huge load off our minds to see her growing well. After the assessement, it's time for Dawn's jab. When the needle went into her right thigh, she wailed very loudly. It broke my heart to hear her cry like that, but I know that it's for her own good. I had to pacify her for a long time before she stopped crying. Poor gal...

After Dawn's jab, we had to see a doctor for Dawn's development assessement. 1 thing that I don't like about going to the polyclinic is that we had to see different people for different things. E.g. we saw a nurse for the jabs, but a doctor for the development assessements. The dumb thing is, the nurse & the doctor are located on different levels. Thus we had to go to the 3rd floor to see the nurse, then go to the 2nd floor to see the doctor. It's times like this that I wish that I had opt to go to a paediatrician.

When we were done, we went to Daryl's favourite haunt - MacDonald's for lunch.

A happy Dawn

I also took a vid of Daryl & Dawn while we were there.

After our lunch, Kel & I went for 2 appts before we headed for home.

Kel had a training session at home with his new agent tonight. Thus we ordered pizza for dinner as he didn't have time to buy dinner back for us. While eating his dinner, Daryl was soooo tired that he actually nodded off to sleep as he didn't take his afternoon nap. As it's a very 'rare' footage, I took a vid of it so that I can show Kel.

When Kel saw the vid, he 'scolded' me for being 'heartless', taking a vid of Daryl nodding off instead of keeping him awake. I told him that I couldn't resist as Daryl looks so cute. Take a look at the vid & you would understand why...

After taking the vid, I carried Daryl to our bathroom so that I can shower him as he had gotten pizza all over his body. However, after his shower, he was not sleepy anymore. Haiz... He even got the energy to pose for pics with Dawn. :p

When I was done with the pic taking, I went to switch off the lights so that the 2 of them can sleep. Daryl fell asleep within minutes as he was so tired. I had to nurse Dawn for a while before she also fell asleep. What a day...

Dawn's 1st Laugh

Dawn turns 3 months old today... It's also the day that I heard Dawn laughed for the 1st time!

It happened when Kel was getting Dawn ready for her morning bath. Kel was playing with her by using his hands & mouth to tickle her. When he used his mouth to tickle her armpit, she actually laughed! Omg, it was soooo cute to hear her laugh like that!

I ran to get the camera so that I can take a vid of it. However, Dawn refused to laugh again when she saw the camera. Nevermind, I'll try again soon...

Breakfast at MacDonald's

I haven't been bringing Daryl to school for a while already. Kel is the 1 who usually brings him to school so that I can sleep in. Isn't that very sweet of him? But then it's also coz I am the 1 who wakes up in the middle of the night to feed Dawn. :p

Today, Kel had a morning golf game, thus I had to bring Daryl to school. As Kel & Daryl normally have their breakfast at MacDonald or the coffeeshop near Daryl's school, I asked Daryl where does he want to have his breakfast this morning. His answer, "MacDonald..." He even answered me with a cheeky grin on his face.

I ordered a Hotcakes Happy Meal for Daryl while I had an Egg McMuffin meal. After I finished my breakfast, I used my hp to take some pics of Daryl eating my hashbrown. Pardon the blurry pics.

See how happy he is... When he finished his breakfast, I sent him to school. He was such a good boy as he didn't fuss when I left. What a relief...

3rd Birthday Present

We got Daryl a Thomas the Train set - Thomas & Percy's Carnival Adventure for his 3rd birthday present.

He was the 1 who chose the present while we were shopping for Nicole & Chloe's birthday presents at Toys R Us the other day. When he saw the set, he kept pestering me to buy it for him. Thus, I made a pact with him... If I buy the set for him, he has to promise me that he would be a good boy & listen to Daddy & Mummy. We 'sealed' the pact with a hug & kiss. :p

Daryl posing with his present. See how happy he is.

As I am not very good at fixing things up, I told Daryl to ask Kel to help him to set up the set. Kel, being the doting dad, agreed to help him. Here are pics depicting the process.

After it was set up, Kel & Daryl had a great time playing with it. Seeing how happy Daryl is brought a smile to my face.

Speech & Drama Trial Class by Acts of Life

Daryl's school is planning to introduce some enrichment classes for them. Thus, they wrote us a letter in July to inform us about it. In the letter that they had given us, it states "To enhance & expand every single child's learning horizons, we have collaborated closely with Acts of Life & Kindermusik to present you with the following enrichment courses at a reasonable fee." I was discussing with Kel as to whether we want to let Daryl attend the classes. Reason being, the enrichment classes are conducted during class time. Thus, it's like we are paying extra for Daryl to attend classes while he's in school. In addition, we have no idea what kind of syllabus are being taught in the enrichment classes.

While I was still contemplating about the decision, I got a call from Teacher Rani. She told me that they would be conducting a Speech & Drama Trial Class by Acts of Life at 10am this morning in the school, thus she asked whether we would be interested to attend. As it was something new to us, we decided to attend the trial class 1st before attending Nicole's 3rd birthday party.

Kel took some pics of us during the class.

Singing & dancing at the end of the trial class

Daryl didn't particpate that actively in class. It could be that he had just woken up or he's shy. But surprisingly, after the class, when we asked him whether he likes the class or not, he answered yes. Then when we asked him whether he want to attend the class or not, he also answered yes. Hmm... Now I am in a dilemna... Think I shall wait till after the Kindermusik trial class which is conducted next Sat to make my decision...
