KL Trip - Day 2

Day 2 of our KL trip is spent with Mum, Kat, Pris & KP in the morning & at China Town in the afternoon.

In the morning, we had brunch with Mum & Kat at the Dondang Sayang Coffee House. At about 11am, Kat went up to their room to bring their luggage over to our room as they had to check out at 12pm. Then Pris & KP came to join us. When they are done with their food, they went to check out. Pris & KP then made their way to Genting Highlands Resorts while Mum & Kat followed me back to our room to wait for their coach which departs at 3pm.

Daryl & Dawn had a great time playing with Mum & Kat. They played so much that they fell asleep. Kel also slept as he was tired. They were still sleeping when Mum & Kat left. I accompanied them to the lobby to wait for their coach.

After they left, I went back to our room. Kel & Daryl had woken up by then. After discussing with Kel, we decided to go to China Town. When Dawn woke up, we went down to the lobby to take a cab to China Town. The cab fare costs us RM$15. However, I suspect that the actual cab fare is lesser if we go by the meter. That is 1 peeve which I have about travelling in Malaysia. Almost all the cab drivers don't go by the meter. Therefore, we always end up paying much more.

China Town had undergo a lot of changes. Now there are a lot of stalls selling imitation goods such as bags, wallets, tees, watches, etc. We bought a Ben 10 toy set for Daryl at 1 of the few stalls selling toys. He was so happy about it. It makes me smile to see how easily satisfied he is. :p We also bought a pair of black Adidas shoes for Daryl & a pair of matching pink Adidas shoes for Dawn which I planned to let them wear it for CNY. At 1 of the shops in China Town, we bought a Ben 10 bag for Daryl as his existing school bag is getting a bit tattered already. Further down China Town, I saw a stall selling local titbits. That was the stall which Mum would patronise every year when we went back to Malaysia. Seeing the stall brings back a lot of memories for me. Needless to say, I bought a lot of local titbits from the stall.

As China Town comprises of 2 streets only, we finished it in a very short time. Thus, we decided to have dinner at 1 of the stalls there before heading back to the hotel. While waiting for our dinner to be served, I ordered a big pau for the kids to eat 1st.

Our dinner was served shortly after taking the pics. We had chicken rice with roast chicken & roast meat. We also ordered bittergourd with carrots & prawns soup. After the nice dinner, we took a cab back to our hotel to rest.

Setting up the Christmas Tree

Kel decided to set up the Christmas tree tonight as it's about 1 more month to Christmas. He got Asty to take out the tree in the afternoon & set it up. Then he waited for us to come home to put up the ornaments & the lights.

When we reached home, Daryl was so excited to see the tree. He insisted that he wants to put up the ornaments now. Dawn on seeing what Daryl is doing, decided to help too. As she's too short to reach the top part of the tree, Asty had to carry her up so that she can hang the ornaments.

The end result after 20 minutes later...

The Christmas tree was finished. However, the kids are covered with gold glitter. Thus I shooed them off to shower & turn in for the night.

Dawn's Words

Dawn never failed to surprise me with her antics.

E.g. I was bathing Dawn in the morning just now when she said the word 'head'. As usual, I used a container to pour water over her head to wet her hair so that I can shampoo her hair. After wiping off the water with her hands, she actually pointed to her head & said "head". I was so surprised to hear that. I told her that she's a clever gal & left it at that. After I finished shampooing her head, I used the container of water to pour water over her head so that I can rinse it off. Dawn pointed to her head & said "head" again. I laughed & asked her why she said that. Is it coz her head is pain pain? Her reaction was priceless. She gave me a pained look & went "weyy..." My gal is a drama queen in the making. :p

After her bath, I left her to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while I went to shower. When I came out of the bathroom, I got dressed & was putting on my makeup when I heard her say "oh toodles". I turned around to ask Kel whether he heard it or not. He smiled & nodded. Seems like my little gal is starting to talk already...

Running Away

Dawn has been having a very bad cough, runny nose & fever since Thu. On Fri, we brought her to see Dr Chua who gave her 4 bottles of medicines to eat.

I have been feeding Dawn her meds all this while. Thus, when she saw me walking towards her just now with a syringe in my hand, she took a look at me & she ran off!!

Kel saw it & laughed till his sides hurt! This is the 1st time that it had happened as Dawn is very very sticky to me. She would wailed the house down if I so much as walked out of her sight. Thus, for her to ran away from me is a very rare occurrence.

I told Kel to stop laughing & catch Dawn back for me. If not, he would be tasked with feeding her the next time. :p

Playing with Lightsticks

Kel got 2 lightsticks for the kids which he took back from a recent camping trip. He decided to open them tonight so that they can play with them. When he took out the lightsticks, Daryl was so excited as he loves them. Kel then showed him how to break the lightstick so that it can glow. However, I think Daryl's face glows more than the lightstick. :p

When Dawn saw what Daryl was doing, she followed. :p

It was so funny watching them play.

Dawn's 1st Haircut

I went to cut my hair today as I can't stand it anymore. It's getting very messy as the last time I cut it was before Chinese New Year.

As Kel is going to his office, we decided to have lunch with the kids at East Ocean 1st. Then I can walk to my salon while he goes to his office with the kids.

A pic with Dawn while waiting for Kel to be ready

After lunch, I decided to bring the kids to see my stylist - Joyce as she hasn't seen Dawn before. When she saw Dawn, her 1st reaction was, "Your gal needs a haircut." Kel laughed when he heard that coz he's been bugging me to cut her hair for a very long time already.

Since Joyce offered to cut Dawn's hair, I agreed to it as I trusted her. In addition, I also feel that Dawn's long fringe is causing her discomfort.

After Dawn got her hair cut, Kel & the kids left for his office so that I can cut my hair in peace. When I am done, he came to pick me up with Daryl.

Clever Dawn

I was surfing the net at the dining table while keeping an eye on Daryl & Dawn. The 2 of them were standing at the sofa there exploring the goodies bags which they had gotten from Natalie's birthday party yesterday.

Dawn then came to me holding a pack of Tom & Jerry chicken crackers & pointed to it repeatedly. She was 'telling' me to open it for her. I refused as I didn't want her to eat that. After a few tries to get me to open it, she walked away. I thought that it was the end of the matter.

A few minutes later, I went to check on the kids & I saw this...

Dawn had opened up the pack of chicken crackers by herself & was eating it happily!!

I suspect that she had tear repeatedly at the top of the packet & managed to tear it open. When I saw it, I laughed. Since she's so clever to open it by herself, I let her enjoyed her 'fruits of labour', even though it's only 5 pieces. :p
