Dawn has a very bad habit of biting Daryl whenever they fight. Tonight they had a fight again when they were playing & Daryl was bitten again.
I was in the kitchen washing up when I heard Daryl screamed. I ran up to their room to see what had happened. When I found out what had happened, Dawn got smacked by me & I went to comfort Daryl.
See how bad the bite is? Hopefully she can outgrow this bad habit soon.
Today is the 1st day of CNY. We didn't have any plans for today except lunch with Kel's mum & mahjong again after lunch.
The kids woke up at about 11am as they had slept very late last night. When they are finally 'awake', Kel & I gave them their ang paos & we went down to the hall. I couldn't resist taking pics of them in their matching 'cookies & cream' pjs as they look so cute. :p

For this year's reunion dinner, we hosted it at our place again. This time round, we decided to have a BBQ as there is a huge common garden at the back of our house.
After dropping off the kids at school at about 9am, Kel & I went to Parkway Parade to have breakfast at Ya Kun, then proceeded to Giant to buy the rest of the food. When we are done with our shopping, we went to pick up the kids from school & went home.
Kel & Pat started to prepare for the BBQ while I showered the kids. I wanted them to nap 1st as I think that we would be up very late tonight.
At about 5.30pm, Kel & Pat went to start the fire for the BBQ.

Our family members started coming at about 6pm & the reunion dinner commenced...
At about 8pm, we had our lo hei as all of us is present, except for my father-in-law. He had decided to skip the reunion dinner for some reason.

After the lo hei, some of us continued eating, some continued chatting, some continued playing while Kel's mum, Chris, Francis & Pat played manjong!!
It was a great reunion dinner as it was a very rare occasion that all of us can get together for a meal & catch up with each other.

After dinner, I showered the kids. As usual, Daryl finished 1st & went out of the bathroom to dry himself. As usual, I reminded him to dry his legs so that the floor wouldn't be wet. But, as usual, he didn't dry his legs thoroughly & went to take his pjs instead.

I turned to see Daryl running to the wardrobe to get his pjs.
Me : Daryl... why you never dry your legs again??
After scolding him, I continued to shower Dawn.
Dawn : Mummy, kor kor, notti... Me : Why kor kor notti? Dawn (looking at me with a very innocent look on her face ) : Kor kor never dry leg. Later I go out, I fall down how?
I totally cracked up when I heard that. I can't believe that she knows how to say that...
When Kel came back from his appts, I told him about what Dawn said. He laughed & went to tease her. He told Dawn that if she does that in the army, she'll be deemed a sabo queen & will be treated to a blanket party. :p
Dawn is not a patient girl by nature. Therefore, every morning, when I wanted to tie her hair while she is having her breakfast, she wouldn't allow me to do so or she would sit still for a very short while only. There is only enough time for me to tie her hair into 1 or at most 2 ponytails.
This morning, she was in a very patient mood. Thus, I took the opportunity to tie her hair into 2 plaits. :p
Hopefully she'll be that patient tomorrow morning.
Kel & I had a fight again just now. It ended with him leaving for his appointment, while I stayed home with the kids. However, once I heard his car drove out of the carpark, I asked the kids to get ready so that I can bring them out.
Our 1st stop was to a chinese sinseh for my sprained ankle. He gave my ankle a good rub & wrapped it up. Hopefully, my ankle will recover soon as it's giving me a lot of pain.
After that, we went to MOS Burger at Parkway for dinner. During dinner, I took some pics of the kids to take my mind off things.

After dinner, we walked around Parkway for a while before heading for home as they got school tomorrow.
We brought Daryl to see Dr Chua just now coz we found more spots on his body & face. While waiting for our turn, I took pics coz the kids look so cute in their matching outfits.
When it's our turn, Dr Chua confirmed that Daryl had indeed contracted chicken pox. The irony is... he's vaccinated against it. Dr Chua told us that even though Daryl is vaccinated, there's still a 5% chance that he can get it. Haiz... how come we aren't that lucky when it comes to the Toto? Luckily, his case is not that serious. Dr Chua predicted that he would recover within 1 week. However, he still gave Daryl 2 weeks MC as it's the standard procedure. He told us to come back again when Daryl has recovered so that he can certified that he can go back to school. I also asked Dr Chua whether Dawn can go to school since she's in close contact with Daryl. Dr Chua said that since she's vaccinated recently & she doesn't show any signs, she can go to school as per normal tomorrow. I heaved a sigh of relief as I don't relish the thought of having 2 hyperactive kids at home for 1 week. He prescribed paracetamol for Daryl, just in case he develops a fever & an anti-itch med to combat the itchiness.
We left the clinic after we collected the meds & went home. Wish me luck...
This morning, when I woke up, I felt very tired & wanted to go back to sleep. On top of that, I didn't feel too good. Hopefully it's not coz I am coming down with the flu again. However, I can't sleep longer as I need to get up to look after the kids. At about 1pm, we went out for lunch & to see Kel's new office. After that, we went to Kel's friend's cake shop to collect the mooncakes which we had ordered for our corporate clients.
We reached home at about 5pm. While I was packing the bread & cakes which we had bought at the cake shop away in the kitchen, Dawn came in & saw a cake with a hello kitty topper on it. She wanted to eat it. I told her to wait & I would get her plate for her so that I can put the cake onto the plate. The impatient gal couldn't wait & decided to take the cake by herself. As expected, the cake dropped onto the floor. That was when I lost it & started yelling at her.
Dawn started wailing. On hearing the commotion, Daryl rushed into the kitchen & started to comfort Dawn. At the same time, he pulled Dawn out of the kitchen & closed the door behind them. Behind the door, I can hear Daryl telling Dawn that she must be a good gal, cannot make Mummy angry. Since she's naughty, she must say sorry & hug hug & kiss kiss Mummy.
When I heard that, I sat down on the floor & broke down in tears. I can't believe that I had turned into this monster who yelled at my kids. I know that it's coz I am too tired recently. I have been juggling my kids, work & the housework at the same time. All these had taken a toll on me, physically & mentally.
Kel was in the bathroom when the incident happened. He came down & found Dawn wailing her lungs out, Daryl comforting her & me sobbing on the kitchen floor. What a sight it must had been. He went to carry Dawn & tried to comfort her. He finally settled her by switching on her favourite barney show. Then he came into the kitchen to help me to clean up. By then, I had cleaned up all the mess already.
After these 2 incidents, I think I need help already. Now the thing is, what kind of help?
We celebrated Daryl's 5th birthday in school today. To prepare his goodies bags, I stayed up late for the past 2 nights to pack them for his classmates & teachers.

For the teachers, I bought bags of Famous Amos cookies. However, I had forgotten to take a pic of them.
At about 2.30pm, we went to collect the cake & proceeded to Daryl's school. We reached the school at about 3pm. Kel went in with the birthday cake 1st while I stayed outside to take the goodies bags, the paper plates & forks & to lock the car. When I entered the school, I heard Dawn crying. I looked around for her & found her sitting in her chair crying while the teachers were trying to comfort her. It turns out that Dawn saw Kel entering the school with the cake & went up to Daryl's classroom which is on the 2nd floor without carrying her. Thus, she was very upset about it & started crying while calling for daddy. We had a good laugh about it. The teachers helped me to carry my stuff so that I can carry Dawn up to Daryl's classroom. By then, Kel had came down to find out why his princess is crying. When he knew why Dawn was crying, he quicky carried her in his arms. :p We then walked up to Daryl's classroom.

After he had 'cut' the cake, Teacher Joyce then helped him to cut the cake up. Teacher Dong & Teacher Jeannie then distributed the cakes to his classmates.

When Daryl finished his cake, it's time for him to distribute the goodies bags to his classmates.
Seeing how happy he is distributing them, it makes the late nights worth it. However, I felt quite bad that I didn't prepare any goodies bags for the K2 kids as I didn't know that they would be joining in the celebrations. I made a mental note to myself that I would go back later & prepare for them. Then Daryl can pass it to them on Thu when he goes back to school.
We mingle around with the teachers & kids for a while before going home. I hope that Daryl & his classmates had a great time today!
