Hospitalized Again

Can you believe how unlucky we are? I was just discharged this morning, now it's Asty's turn!

When Asty was changing Daryl after his evening bath, she suddenly complained to Kel that her tummy hurts a lot on the right side. Kel rushed out to the living room where I was watching TV & asked me to check with her. I went into our room & asked her. She told me that the right side of her tummy hurts a lot. So I told her to change & we would bring her to see Dr Chua.

At Dr Chua's clinic, he diagnosed that she might be suffering from appendicitis. He wrote a referral letter for her & asked us to send her to A & E. We were very shocked when we heard that. We quickly went home & asked Asty to change into long pants & wear a jacket. Kel then sent her to Changi Hospital's A & E while I stayed home with Daryl.

That was the start of my woes. As we rushed to see Dr Chua before he closed for the night, Kel didn't get a chance to cook my dinner for me. At about 8pm+, I was very hungry already. I couldn't cook dinner as my wounds are hurting a lot & I got to look after a super sticky Daryl. I couldn't take the painkillers prescribed by Dr Look as they are to be taken after food. I couldn't take it then & broke down then. Out of no choice, I called my mum & told her to take a cab down & helped me out for the next few days.

After 1/2 hour, I called Mum again as I was worried that she didn't know how to come to my place by cab. Pris answered the phone & told me that she & Mum are still waiting for a cab. As it was changing shift time for the cabs, she & mum can't get a cab. Luckily they managed to get 1 during our conversation. Pris then told me that she would call me back.

Pris called me back 10 minutes later to let me know that Mum is on the way to my place. I was so relieved then. Finally, help is arriving... She told me that as Mum rushed out in a hurry, she might have forgotten to pack some stuff. Thus, if Mum needs anything, I can call her & asked her to bring to my place.

About 1/2 hour later, Mum arrived. When I saw her, I broke down again. She asked me what's wrong, so I told her that I am in a lot of pain & am very hungry, but I can't take the painkillers as I haven't eaten anything since lunch. Then I told her that Kel had prepare the ingredients, but I can't cook coz it's too painful. In addition, I have to look after the sticky boy. She quickly went to take the ingredients out from the fridge & cooked some food for me.

After eating, I took the painkillers. Ah... relief at last...

Mum also helped me to wash up & look after Daryl while I rest for a while. Luckily she'll be here for the next few days to help me out.

To be honest, I was a bit pissed off with Asty. I had just been discharged from the hospital, thus I was counting on her to look after Daryl while I am recuperating as I can't carry heavy stuff for the next 4 - 6 weeks, . Now this have to happen! I know that it's not her fault that it happens at this time. However, I can't help feeling that if she had taken better care of herself, this wouldn't have happened. I am not a hard hearted person. If you know how much 'problems' that she had been giving us for the past few months, you would understand how I feel. Now, I am seriously considering whether I should extend her contract with us next February when it expires.
