Daryl dived off the Sofa

Daryl got a big bump on his head today!! I didn't saw how it happened as I was working in the study room. All I heard was a big "bong" & Daryl's crying. I rushed out of the study room to see what had happened.

When I reached the living room, I saw Asty carrying a crying Daryl. When he saw me, he called "mama" & held out his hands to me. I carried him & asked Asty what had happened. Asty replied that she didn't know as she was washing the dishes in the kitchen. I told Asty off for not looking after Daryl. She was supposed to be looking after him, not washing plates in the kitchen.

What we deducted is that Daryl is probably leaning over the sofa so that he can pick up his ball from the floor. However, he lost his balance & fell head down onto the floor. It was the biggest bump which he had in his entire life!! I was so heartpained when I saw that.

I comforted Daryl by taking some pics with him while Asty went to boil a hard boiled egg.



































Once it was ready, I held Daryl in a very tight grip so that Asty can rub his bump. He was crying & struggling so violently. Poor Daryl...

After rubbing it, the bump seemed to have subside a bit. I hope that it would subside soon.

Visiting Po Po's Place

My sisters told me that my mum misses her grandson a lot as we have not been visiting her recently. Thus we decided to visit her today.

Daryl likes going to my mum's place as he will have free rein of the house. He is the apple of my mum & sisters' eyes. Thus they will accede to his every request. :p

Lunch, High Tea & Shopping with Da Yi

Daryl & I meet Pris for lunch & Christmas shopping today. Pris needs to clear her leave by the end of the year, thus we decided to meet up.

We decided to meet @ Sakae Sushi, Suntec City to have our lunch 1st before our shopping. I was very impressed with the restaurant as they have a booster seat for Daryl to sit in. This was not available at the outlet @ Parkway Parade.

Daryl enjoyed the lunch a lot as he got to eat his favourite food - chawan mushi.



































He even got to try a new dish - Edamame. It's a kind of green beans which is boiled. As I don't eat green beans, Daryl had never tried it before. Pris would peel open the bean pod, put the beans on a plate & he'll pick them up 1 by 1 & eat it. It was quite funny to see him doing that. He even tried to feed Pris. As Pris don't want to eat the bean from his saliva covered fingers, she took the bean & put it into Daryl's mouth. Then Daryl got this bright idea of giving his Da Yi the beans so that she can feed him with it. It was hilarious seeing the 2 of them doing that!!

After lunch, we went shopping at suntec city. However, nothing caught Pris's fussy eyes. Thus we adjoined to Takashimaya.

We were a bit tired after the journey, therefore we decided to rest our feet at Coffee Club. Pris took some pics of Daryl with her camera phone while we were having our tea.









































































After tea, we went shopping again. As nothing caught Pristine's fancy, she didn't buy any gifts at all. As for me, shopping with Daryl is very difficult as he refuses to cooperate. Thus, I also didn't managed to get anything.

As Daryl is getting fussier, we decided to call it a day & go home. What a tiring day!!

Balloon

We brought Kel's mum out today for lunch & grocery shopping. As she wanted to buy some portobello mushrooms, we decided to go to Suntec City so that she can buy her mushrooms at Carrefour.

We had lunch at Chen Fu Ji Noodle House coz we wanted to try the fried rice there. It is supposed to be one of the best fried rice in town. True to our expectations, it was really very nice. However, Kel was complaining that the prices are on the high side. He feels that the prices are kinda of high for simple zi char dishes. Well, you can't pleased everybody, especially one who is as fussy as Kel. :p

After lunch, we went grocery shopping at Carrefour. Kel & his mum went to shop for the portobello mushrooms while Daryl & I went to buy some biscuits for him. Carrefour had this counter whereby it sells all kinds of snacks by weight. This is a really good idea as we can try out the snacks 1st before we buy them. I saw some plain animal biscuits which I think is suitable for Daryl. Thus, I went to take a plastic bag so that I can put the biscuits inside. When I opened up the box containing the biscuits, greedy Daryl went to put his hand inside the box & took out 2 bscuits & proceed to eat them. I was so embrassed! The promoter saw it & came over to assist me. She was laughing when she saw this. Daryl managed to charm the promoter by smiling his cheeky smile at her. Charmed, she gave him a different kind of cracker to eat. We were talking about him when Daryl finished the crackers. Greedy Daryl pointed at the box containing the crackers indicating that he wants more. I quicky ended the conversation so that I can carried him away before he kicks up a fuss.

After grocery shopping, we went to the Carrefour toy fair outside Carrefour. When we were walking around, we encountered a promoter selling Sesame Street helium balloons. I didn't want to buy them coz I feel that they were very expensive. It's $7 for a small 1 & $15 for a big 1. However, we relented when we saw how much Daryl likes it. The promoter gave some ballons to Daryl so that he can hold them. He kept smiling & pointing at the ballons & saying "ball ball". Kel, being the doting father, decided to buy 1 for him. We shortlisted 2 balloons - an Elmo balloon & a Sesame Street birthday ballon & asked Daryl to choose. He choose the Sesame Street birthday balloon. After paying for the balloon, we decided to go home as Kel's mum & Daryl were tired already.

Daryl was so happy with the balloon that he kept playing with it even when we were home. Here are 2 pics of him playing with it with a big smile on his face.















































Seeing the big smile on his face, we were very happy that we bought it for him. Kel even said that we can treat it as his belated birthday balloon as he didn't have it for his birthday. :)

Laughing in his Sleep

Daryl did something really funny in his sleep last night. I woke up suddenly at about 4.30am due to Kel's incessant coughing. Then I heard Daryl's laughter. The funny thing is, he only laughed after Kel had coughed. So it goes like, cough, cough, cough, hahaha, cough, cough, cough, hahaha... It was so funny that I woke Kel up to witness it. Kel didn't believe me when I told him about what his baobei did. He asked me to go back to sleep as we are going to have a very busy day today. So I asked him to cough & see what is Daryl's reaction. After he coughed, Daryl would laughed. This happened a few times!! Kel was really convinced then. He remarked that our baobei is so mischievous that he even wants to play in his sleep.

Daryl knows "B" & "C"

I was working in the study room in the evening when Asty came in with Daryl. She said that Daryl knows the letters "B" & "C". I was a bit skeptical when I heard that. Thus Asty said that she'll show me.

We had bought Daryl a Sesame Street ABC Desk for his birthday.


























Daryl loves it a lot as it got his favourite Sesame Street character - Elmo. Thus he would play with it every other day.

Asty put some tiles on my study table. Among them are the letters "B" & "C". She then asked Daryl where is the letter "C". Daryl looked at the tiles for a while & he picked up the correct 1!! I praised him & gave him a very big kiss! Asty put the tile back onto the table & asked Daryl where is the letter "B". Daryl picked up the correct tile again!! He even pointed to it & said the word "ball". I was soooooooo happy when he said that. I gave him a very big hug & kiss!!

When Kel came back, I told him about what Daryl did. He was very amazed. Thus I asked Asty to demonstrate it to him again. When he saw that, he was so happy & give Daryl a very big kiss also!!

Shaving

Kel, the blur sotong, forgot to shave again before he went out for his appointment. As he was late already, he asked me to wrap his shaver with newspaper, put it inside a plastic bag & threw it down to him via our kitchen window.

Daryl was standing beside me when I was trying to pull out some old newspapers from the pile which we have. Once done, I turned around to see a funny sight. Daryl was holding the shaver which I had placed on top of the table & trying to shave!! The best thing is : he is doing it correctly!! He must have watched Kel shaved so many times that he knows how to do it. In addition, he was making some sounds which sound like the shaver in operation. I cracked up when I saw that scene!! Pity that I got no camera with me, thus I can't capture that scene.

Calling Daddy

Daryl is growing day by day. He is beginning to imitate what we are doing these days. Today, I managed to capture some pics of him using the telephone.

Fever...

Daryl's fever got worse in the night. At 4am, his temp was 40.8 deg. I was so worried that I couldn't sleep well at all. At about 5am, I was so tired that I drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up at 7am, Daryl was already awake. I can tell that he was not feeling well coz he didn't even asked me for his milk. Usually when he wakes up, he'll "ask" me or Kel for his milk by saying "neh neh". This morning, he just lie there beside me without moving. I pulled myself up from our bed & went to take the thermometer to measure his temp. His temp was still 40.8 deg!! I called Kel who was at a golf tournament & told him about Daryl's high temp. Kel told me to bring him to see the doctor. As the clinic opened at 8.30am, I got no choice but to wait. I fed Daryl his medicine again. As usual, he screamed the house down.

Finally 8.30am came. I brought Daryl to see Dr Chua. Dr Chua diagnosed that Daryl is having a fever, cough & a slight sore throat. He gave him some medicine for his fever & his cough. He also wanted to give Daryl an antibotic for his sore throat but I declined it as I don't want Daryl to take antibotic a such a young age. However, he told me to come back should his symptons got worst.

After seeing Dr Chua, we went home so that Daryl can rest. Here are some pics of Daryl looking very lethagetic.

As his temperature is still on the high side, I stuck a piece of Kodomo cooling adhesive on his forehead to try & bring his temperature down.



































With this, I hope that he'll get well soon.

Daryl is Sick

Today is the third day after Daryl's MMR jab. After lunch, I noticed that he seems a bit lethargic & his cheeks were a bit more reddish than usual. When I touched his forehead, it felt hotter than usual. Fearing the worst, I went to take a thermometer to measure his temperature. It was so difficult to take his temperature coz he refused to be still. Mine is a digital thermometer, so using it is a breeze coz it needs only 2 seconds to obtain the temperature. I couldn't be more wrong! Daryl struggled everytime I inserted the thermometer into his ear. Thus I had to restrain him while I measured his temperature. Needless to say, this got him screaming the house down!

My worst fears were confirmed!! He is running a slight fever!! His temperature was 37.7 deg. So I fed him liquid paracetomal. After eating the medicine, his fever still didn't subside. In the evening, it was 38.4. Then in the night, it was 39.8. Now I am monitoring him to see whether his fever will subside or not. It's going to be a long night...

Daddy...

Kel is the happiest person in the world right now!! Reason, his baobei called him "Daddy" this morning!!

Daryl woke up this morning at about 7.30am. As it was ridiculously early, I did not want to wake up. I closed my eyes & pretended to be asleep. Seeing that I was "sleeping", Daryl proceed to entertain himself. He was rolling all over the bed, touching this & that, throwing his pillow, bolster around, etc. After a while, he got restless & started to pat me, my face, pulled my hair, mouth, etc. So I opened my eyes & smiled at him. He gave me a very big smile. Then Kel came into our room to check on us. When Daryl saw him, he shouted, "Daddy". It was the 1st time that Daryl had called him that when he saw Kel. Kel was sooooo happy!! I laughed & told Kel that he is going to strike 4D soon.

Daryl Threw Daddy's New Shorts into the Dustbin

Daryl is getting to be a quite handful these days. Today, he did something which I don't know whether I should laugh or cry.

Kel & I went out for appointments in the afternoon. When we came back, Kel, being the vainpot wants to wear his new shorts after his shower. He knew that Asty had washed the shorts already, thus he wants to wear it. The new Reebok shorts were bought @ RSH on Sun when we were at Suntec City to collect my repaired handphone. It's a very good buy - S$26.90 for 2 pair of shorts.

As he can't find it, I went to ask Asty where are the new shorts. Asty's reply is that she went to wash the new shorts again. I was puzzled as to why she did that. Thus I asked her. Her reply, "Mdm, I had to wash it again as Daryl threw the shorts into the dustbin!" I was like ??. So I asked her which dustbin did Daryl threw the shorts into. She replied that it's the 1 in our room. Then I asked her how come Daryl can threw the shorts in without her knowing. She replied that she bought the basket of clothes into our room as she wanted to keep our clothes. Daryl followed her into our room. Then she went out of the room to get more clothes. In the meantime, my notti boy took out the pair of shorts which is on top of the pile, walked to the dustbin & proceed to throw them inside.

When Asty was keeping the clothes, she was wondering how come the pair of shorts is missing. She was looking high & low for it when she spied it in the dustbin.

When she related the story to me, I was laughing so hard. Kel heard me & asked me how come I am laughing so hard. When I told him what had happened, he was laughing also.

MMR Jab

Daryl went for his MMR (measles, mumps & rubella) vacine jab this morning. As our appointment was at 8am, we had to wake Daryl up at 7am, which is earlier than his usual wake up time of between 7.30 to 8.30am.

At the polyclinic, he was enjoying himself wandering around the place while we were waiting for our turn. Soon it was our turn. When we entered the immunisation room, Daryl seem to know that something is up. Coz he cried & refused to sit still. This time round, Kel is not there to help me out. Reason being that the polyclinic had this new rule that only 1 parent/guardian is allowed in the immunisation room. It's so dumb!! The room is not that small, thus why can't 2 parents/guardians enter the room at the same time? The even dumber thing is, the polyclinic didn't even bothered to explain why was this rule implemented. It's times like this that I wished that we have opted to do Daryl's immunisation jabs with a pediatrician instead.

1st, the nurse asked me some questions regarding Daryl's development. Then we weighed & measured him. Daryl is now 13kg, 85cm tall. This explains why I often feel breathless after carrying him for a while.

Next, the nurse explained to me that the MMR jab may cause fever. However, the fever will only appeared about 5 to 7 days after the jab. Thus we need to monitor him closely. She also prescribed liquid paracetamol for Daryl in the event that he has a fever.

Then it was time for his jab. When I held Daryl tight, he was crying & struggling so furiously that the nurse commented that he is a really strong boy. When the needle went in, his cries were so loud that Kel said that he can hear them outside the room. The funny thing is, Daryl continued his crying even after we had left the room. It was so embrassing coz he was screaming & crying at the polyclinic. He only stopped when I brought him outside the polyclinic to look at the vehicles passing by. Buses, cars & vans are some of his favourites.

We left the polyclinic after Kel collected the medicine so that Daryl can rest at home.

Then?

Daryl said something today which cracked all of us up!!

He was sitting at the sofa, waiting patiently for me to load his new Sesame Street VCD into the DVD player. The Kel came out from the kitchen after having his drink. When he saw Daryl sitting quietly there, he said, "Wah, baby, you are so GOOD boy ah? Sit there quietly & wait for mummy to load your disc?"

Daryl's reply was, "Then?"

When we heard that, all of us started laughing. Coz his answer is so apt for the situation!!

Playing with the Toy Car

Daryl has a routine every night. After his dinner, he'll take a bath. After his bath, he'll play on our bed till it's his bed time. These days, I realised that he likes to play with a miniature toy car which Kel had put on our bedside table.



As you can see from the vid, the toy car is played so often that the hood of the car had came off already. :p

Daryl's 9th Tooth

Daryl had been biting on anything that he can lay his hands on recently. Thus I suspected that he might be teething again. My suspicions are true!! This morning, I found his 9th tooth peeking out. It's on his upper ridge, the left side. With this tooth, he's going to have 9 teeth already. Hopefully he's not going to use them on me again. :p

Bubble Time

Daryl loves bubbles!! He loves it so much that he always looks forward to his bath time so that he can play with them.

It's very difficult 2 video Daryl dancing. He's usually distracted by my hp or camera when I tried to video him. This vid is 1 of the rare 1 which I managed to tape down part of his dancing.

Pool Time

Esther & Julian decided to set up their newly bought pool today. The best thing is, they decided to invite Daryl to play in it together with Nicole. Coz they said that it's too much trouble setting up the pool just for Nicole to play in.

When I saw the pool, I understand why they said that. The pool is huge!! It's like a baby pool. To give you an indication of the size, it can probably fit 4 adults & 4 babies inside comfortably!!

Daryl's 8th Tooth

Daryl's 8th tooth is peeking out. It can be found at his bottom left gum. I saw it when he was giving me 1 of his big smiles this morning. When I saw it, I was so happy that I woke Kel up to see it.

3rd Bump

You know what, Daryl got his 3rd bump tonight again!! This time, it happened when I was taking my shower. I heard Daryl crying very loudly when I was showering, so I finished my shower in double quick time & rushed out to see what happened. When Daryl saw me, he cried even harder & held out his arms to me. So I carried him & asked Asty what had happened. Asty said that Daryl was walking around on our bed when he suddenly decided to lie down. However, he did it with his face facing down. In the process, his right forehead hit his toy car which is on the bed. Thus he got another bump on his right forehead.

Caught in the Act

I took the day off today to have lunch with Esther & Nicole. Figured that since I have worked so hard, I deserved a day off to spend some time with Daryl.

We met at Centrepoint where we had lunch at Teochew City Seafood Restaurant. After that, Kel left us to go for his appointments & Esther & I went shopping at Robinsons. There is a 20% storewide discount for Robinsons Card members. Halfway through our shopping, our kids decided to fuss at around the same time. Daryl fussed coz he didn't take his afternoon nap. Thus he was tired & fussy. Nicole fussed coz she wants to sleep. Our kids are so in tune with each other. Hehehe...

Thus, we had to pacify both our bao beis before we could continue our shopping. That took us about 1.5 hours. That is the amount of time we took to soothe both of them to sleep. Haiz, looking after our kids is really not easy!!

After shopping, we decided to rest our feet at Delifrance & have afternoon tea. Ah... the life of a tai tai...I wish that I can do this more often. When we were there, Nicole continued her nap while Daryl woke up. Thus he got the chance to sit with us & have some tea. However, he has a better idea...

After our nice afternoon tea, it's more shopping again! We went to Mothercare to see whether there are any good offers. I bought 3 sets of pyjamas for Daryl coz I feel that his sleepsuits are not suitable for him anymore. Reason being that the sleepsuits have booties. They can be quite slippery when he is walking.

When we were at Mothercare, think Daryl got bored waiting for us while we were shopping. Thus he decided to entertain himself by getting some toys out of Nicole's bag to play with. He was caught in the act by Esther.


































See the innocent look on his face when he was found out! The best thing is, he ignored the 2 of us & continued his entertainment.

When Kel saw this vid, he couldn't stop laughing! Our baby has grown up already.

Caught

I managed to film Daryl when he was playing with our hi fi set. He has this very bad habit of opening the cassette player & closing it.



As you can see from the vid, he knows that he is not supposed to be playing with it. Coz he stopped the minute he heard Kel's voice.

Tom & Jerry

I love Tom & Jerry's cartoons when I was a little gal. Thus I hope that Daryl will love it too. Unfortunately, his love is limited to the theme song of the cartoon as shown in the vid.



This vid shows Daryl bobbing his head to the theme song. However, after the song is finished, he is up to his naughty antics again.

Driving

We were waiting at the carpark below our block for Asty to come down. While waiting, Kel let Daryl try his hand at driving.



Daryl was so happy driving that he refused to let go when it is time for us to drive off.

Bath Time

Daryl enjoys his bath time a lot!! Think this notti boy of mine likes to play with water. Here's a vid of him enjoying himself in the bathtub & laughing away...

Daddy Time...

Daryl always have a great time playing with Kel!! Tonight is no exception!! Here's a vid to prove it. :p

New Pram

Daryl got a new pram today!! U may asked why are we buying a new 1 for Daryl when he's already 13 months old. The reason is coz our old pram is spoilt. Thus when we brought it back to Mothercare for repairs, they did a 1 to 1 exchange for us as it is still within the 1 year warranty period.

This time round, the fault lies with this broken ring at the bottom of the pram. Even though it's not a major fault, we decided to bring it back to Mothercare for repairs as it was still within the warranty period. Kel was super fed up with me!! Coz it's the 2nd time that the stupid pram had spoilt!! He doesn't understand how come a $400 pram spoilts so easily!!

Initially Mothercare wanted to send it back to their Head Office for repairs, but Kel kicked up a big fuss there! He told the staff that this is the 2nd time whereby we had brought the pram back for repairs. This shows that the pram is not as reliable as it seems. Thus he wants a 1 to 1 exchange for it. The Mothercare staff had no choice but to do it for us.

As they had no more 2005 model's pram, we got a new 2006 model's pram. However, it was in red colour. Well, it's better than nothing. The best thing is: it's free!!

Even though it's very inconvenient for us, at least Daryl got to sit in a new pram again. :) Let's hope that the new pram will not give us anymore problems.

The 7th Tooth

Announcement...

Daryl's 7th tooth is popping out!! It's at his lower gum on the right hand side. I saw it this morning when he gave me his very big smile. That was when he woke up & saw me at his side smiling at him. I like to see that smile of his. It always warms my heart whenever I saw it!!

Cleaning the Coffee Table

Daryl was such a good boy today again!! He decided to help us to clean our coffee table by wiping it with his hanky. *faint*

Laundry Time...

Daryl was such a good boy today!! He decided that he wants to help us to do some of the housework. As he was too young to do anything strenuous, he decided to help us to push the laundry bag from our room to the kitchen where our washing machine is.

Unfortunately, he was distracted along the way by Kel who was working in the study room & he derailed.



Anyway, it's the thought that counts.

Lunch with Daryl

I had to post some letters today. Thus I decided to bring Daryl & Asty down to the coffeeshop near my place to have lunch together. Daryl was so happy that he was going out with us that he kept smiling when we walked down the stairs.

I let Daryl did quite a fair bit of walking today. He walked from the 6th floor's stairs to the lift landing, into the lift, out of the lift & to the end of our block. It was a very long walk. When he stopped & refused to walk, I carrried him & walked the rest of the way to the coffeeshop.

Daryl enjoyed the lunch very much. I think he likes the fact that he wasn't strapped in his pram but sitting on 2 stacked up chairs.



































He even had fish beehoon for lunch. Yummy... As he can't finished the whole bowl, he had to share it with Asty.

After the lunch, Asty carried him back to our block. Then I asked Asty to put him down so that he can walked somemore. He walked from the end of our block, to the lift landing, into the lift, out of the lift & to the bottom of the stairs leading to our house. Then I carried him down the stairs.

When we reached home, I asked Asty to bathe him so that he can take his nap. He was so tired by all the walking that he took a 3 hours nap.

Getting kissed...

Daryl 'asked' me for kisses today!! It was the 1st time that he had done that & it was not for 1 kiss, but 3 kisses!!

It happened when Kel & I were on our way out to work. When Daryl saw that we were going out without him, he crawled very quickly to us & clarmoured to be carried. I carried him up & told him that mummy & daddy are not going out. We are going to work. He seem to understand & didn't fussed anymore. Kel, who was already outside the door, told him to kiss me, but he refused to. However, he did something very surprising, he turned his head & gave me his cheek so that I can kiss him. It wasn't a fluke as he did it again & again, a total of 3 times!! Once I had done that, he gave me a very big smile. Kel was so jealous!! Hahaha...

Poo Poo...

Daryl had not been poo pooing since last Thu! This morning when we woke up, we saw that Daryl is straining very hard to try & poo, but no success. Thus I told Asty to boil some china barley for him. She replied that she had already done so. I was very impressed! This is called initiative! Am very glad that she had done it.

After drinking the barley water, Daryl tried to poo a couple of times again. Still not successful. When I checked his diapers, I can see the poo at his butt hole there. It's just that it can't come out. Poor Daryl...

In the afternoon, when I was on the phone, I heard Daryl crying very loudly. I quickly ended the call & rushed to see what had happened. I saw Asty carrying a naked Daryl & Kel trying to pull out his poo in the bathroom. Kel said Daryl tried to poo again when he was having his bath. But it was not successful again. His poo is stuck at his butt hole there & it wouldn't come out. Daryl cried even harder when he saw me. He reached out & wants me to carry him. He even call Mama... It really broke my heart when I saw that. I carried him & he went to lay his head on my shoulder. I told Kel that we have to bring Daryl to see Dr Chua to get the medicine for Daryl to poo. Seeing how distressed Daryl was, Kel agreed & he went to change.

On the way to Dr Chua's clinc, Daryl actually fell asleep during the short journey!This shows how tired he was!

At Dr Chua's clinic, he gave Daryl babylax in his butthole. When I put Daryl down, he cried again. When the medicine was deposited into his butt hole, he cried even harder. Poor poor Daryl... My heart really broke then! Once done, I carried him up & patted him. Luckily he was soothed by my patting. Dr Chua told us to give him more water as he thinks that Daryl is not drinking enough water. I made a mental note to tell Asty about it.

When we reached home, Daryl tried to poo poo again. After a while, I went to check on his diaper. I saw that he had poo out 3 small round pieces of very hard poo. I told Kel about it. Kel told me to wait for a while more for him to finish his poo pooing. I replied that it's better to wash now so that he'll not kena diaper rash. Dun wan 2 add on to his discomfort now.

While washing him, we saw that Daryl is straining again. Thus Kel sprayed water into his butt hole there. Daryl then poo out 4 more pieces of hard poo. After that, we saw that he was trying to push out a bigger piece. As it's already out, Kel went to pull it out. OMG... that piece of poo is huge!! The width is equivalent to the width of 3 of my fingers!! No wonder Daryl was in such pain!!

After the washing up, I went to pat Daryl to sleep. He fell asleep almost immediately. Poor boy! After all the hard work, he deserved a good rest.

It was 6pm when Daryl woke up. He had been sleeping for 3 hours already. When he woke up, he didn't cry, which is a very good sign! I went to take a peek at him. When he saw me, he gave me a very big smile. When I saw that, I knew that everything is okie already.

Children's Day

We went to my mum's place today for dinner. She was complaining to my sis that we have not been back for a long time already, thus she misses Daryl a lot. To satisfy her, we brought Daryl back so that he can entertain her. :)

Unassisted walk...

Daryl walked unassisted today!!

I was in the kitchen cutting an apple for Daryl when Kel shouted for me. I quickly rushed out to see what happened & I saw Daryl walking towards the dining table from the sofa UNASSISTED!! I was so happy to see that. When he was about to reach the dining table, he sat down & started to crawl. Think he was too tired already. Even though it's a short distance, I am very happy already. My baby is finally walking!!

Notti Daryl

Daryl is 13 months old on 25 Sep 2006!!

His way of celebrating this mini milestone in his life is to wake me & Kel up at about 5am today. *faint* The best thing is: the 2 of us only slept at about 2am coz we were trying to rush a report out. Thus we only got about 3 hours of sleep each.

When Daryl woke up at about 5am, I hugged him tight, hoping that he'll go back to sleep. No such luck! Then Kel tried. Also no luck! He flipped here & there, rolled here & there, kicked me & Kel, he even stood up! *faint*

After a while, Kel got fed up. Thus he carried Daryl up & put him in his cot. Ah... peace & quiet... Daryl entertained himself for a while by playing with his pooh bear toys. But our peace & quiet lasted for only 5 mins. Daryl soon got bored, so he stood up in his cot & started to call us. We ignored him. Then my notti boy decided that he'll throw things at us to wake us up. Luckily his aim is not that good, so he only managed to hit Kel who is nearer to him. Hahaha... Heng ah... He threw his pillow, 2 bolsters, 2 pooh bear toys out. When that got no response from us, he started to cry. Initially it was still bearable, after a while, his cries got louder & louder. Haiz...

Kel then woke up & brought him out to the living room so that I can sleep longer. But it's of no use. As I am already awake, it's very difficult for me to go back & sleep. So I woke up also.

I dun know whether I should laugh or cry. Laugh because Daryl is so smart that he can throw his stuff at us (he usually throw them onto the floor instead) Cry because I got only 3 hours of sleep. From this incident, it shows that my baby is growing up already. He is no longer the baby boy which he used to be. :)

Daryl walked 3 steps

Daryl walked 3 steps by himself today!!

He did it when we were both on the bed watching TV. He was so happy to have my company that he refused to sleep at his usual bedtime. He was rolling about, trying to somersault, etc... Suddenly, he got up, stood there for a while, then he started walking!! He took 3 steps before collapsing on the bed. Hehe...

I tried to get him to walk again, but he refused to. Notti boy...

1st Step...

Daryl took his 1st unassisted step today!

In the evening, I was sitting on the sofa watching TV while Daryl is standing at the coffee table playing with his toys. Suddenly he turns around, gave me a very big smile & lunged towards me. I immediately rushed forward as I was so worried that he would fell down. Then I realised that Daryl had just took 2 steps. Why 2 steps? Coz he had reached the sofa already. Thus there's no more space for him to walk anymore. I was so happy when I saw that. I gave him a very big kiss & he turned back to play with his toys.

I don't think he knows how happy he had made me. To him, it could be be just 2 small little steps. But to me, it's the 1st step to his independence.

The Little Gym

We were invited to Nicole's The Little Gym class today. Esther told me that The Little Gym had extended an invitation to 1 of Nicole's baby pals to attend 1 of their session. Since it's the 1st time that Daryl will be attending these kind of classes, we decided that we'll bring Daryl there for an eye opener.

It was a disaster initially. Coz when the singing started, Daryl was scared out of his wits. Poor Daryl! We had to bring him out of the class to calm him down. He only managed to calm down after about 20 mins. By then, the session was already half way through. He only managed to participate in the free & easy session. Luckily he managed to enjoy himself in the end, especially during the bubble time.

No No...

Daryl knows how to shake his head!! I saw Daryl shaking his head & kicking his legs on Sat morning when he was watching Sesame Street. However, I didn't get a chance to capture it on video as it was so short. On Sun, I realised that when we said the word "No No", he'll shake his head. So i managed to capture a few videos of him. He's so cute!! Seeing this video always makes me laugh. The best thing is that he'll say papa sometimes when he does that. Kel is so happy about it.
